Timing... ummmm... how?
« on: September 12, 2006, 09:09:39 PM »

Hey guys. I just replaces my timing belt, and lined everything up as per the hanes manual... but... when its cold, it seems to idle a bit rough. I had a few friends listen, and everyone is telling me the timing is out a bit. So... I grabbed the good ole timing light to check it out, and then realised...  I don't have a distributor... So what do I do? Can you adjust the timing on the coil pack?

I am lost here....

you're belt is off a few teeth and haynes suck man parts.  Chilton is the book to buy.  You should have a mark on each of your cam gears and they should be facing each other and there is a mark on the crank and the block that should be lined up.  Timing belts on DOHC suck.
