« on: August 18, 2006, 02:37:14 AM »

I just got my secret weapon-r intake and its not fitting Angry not even close. the battery is in the way. Would a slimmer battery work? Has anyone else had this problem?  Its a 2000 2.5l v6.

How much is it missing by? can you move the battery over at all?  What about taking the battery out, putting on the intake and seeing what kind of room you have in there for your battery.

Mod List.  Um WAY too many to fit on here.  But the engine can handle about 800HP

I would say I need about  a 1 1/2 inches maybe 2inch.  The battery has got about a  1inch or less on the other side I don't think it can move over though I will check.

I had the same problem when I put my V2 on, it's tight in there but it works!

Nope!  I don't have a camera to post online.  Actually I might have one in a different photo place.  Let me check.

I wouldn't do that if I were you!  our batteries are tooooooo close to the hood.  with out the tie-down, hitting a small bump can BURN YOUR CAR TO THE GROUND!  I would look for another answer.

You know what i didn't even think about it grounding itself with the hood,  that would be natsy. I got some liquid tape I'll put it on the teminals. I took the battery tray and bolt out and it still touches the battery a good bit, but I got it in there and it looks good. It makes a really noticeable sucking sound.

I don't know if you've already thought about this, but you may want to keep an eye on the tubing around the battery for a while. With it touching the battery you may end up rubbing a hole in the intake piping from the vibrations of driving. I have an intake and it's a really tight fit also. It never appeared to be touching the battery, but one day I had to replace the battery and I noticed a significant rubbed area. It was rubbed down to the bare metal. Needlesstosay, I made sure to have ample room when I replaced the battery.

yeah I thought about that, but after moving the battery over to get it to fit it was just barely touching the inlet to the radiator. So I took that stupid rubber groumet mount off and used a regular bolt. It doesn't move no where near as much now.
