Going to run this by you guys to see what you think.
The car has 111k miles on it and has a check engine light on. The code from Autozone is showing misfire in cylenders 1 and 6 P0300 I think was the code.  At various times upon starting the vehicle the check engine light will flash for a few minutes. While this is flashing the car stalls badly unless you get on the gas pretty good. After a few minutes the light will quit flashing and just stay on. When this happens the car runs perfect.  Most of the time when you start it the car will run fine with no stalling what so ever. It just happens when the light is flashing.

I will be replacing all plug wires and plugs this weekend. After that I am looking at the changing out the distributor. My only worrys is that timing could be causing this and dont want the pistons and valves to meet together for lunch. Roll Eyes

Any ideas would be appreciated

If it only happens when starting it's not going to be the timing.  Sounds to me like you already have a good start on what to do with the wires and distributor.  Also check your injectors.

Mod List.  Um WAY too many to fit on here.  But the engine can handle about 800HP

Exactly what Tengu said. Also, I would clean the throttle body for good measure.

are you getting decent mileage? everything mentioned above along with oxygen sensors and egr valves can cause multiple cylinder misfires.

Hey Im having simular probs just as a stated a month or so.. same car 98k on it
had the CEL codes misfires, changed wires, plugs, o2's... had my EGR valve go on me when I first got the car... do these things go out easy? the EGR valves... Its very intermitend... can happen every second from start up through acceleration or car could run like a champ. no codes, mechanics both of mine have no idea, think it might be the distributor but who knows... what do you think the possibility would be the EGR Valve?
Thanks you guys are great

Well I changed the plugs, wires, dist cap, not the rotor ( dont ask got the wrong part and couldnt get back to the store).  I did clean up the rotor and make sure the contacts were bright and clear.

The car is running considerably better. It has stalled once(wife said it did) since then but I was not in the car and no CEL came up.  Will watch it a bit more might have been some bad gas also.   Running some more injector cleaner through it now and will report back to ya. So far 3 days and not a stall so I am hoping it is done.

Thanks for the help

Erik
