Ah the curse of owning an Eclipse
« on: July 17, 2006, 07:45:52 PM »

So I am on my way home for lunch and this kid pulls up next to me in his WRX and asks me if I want to race.

I look over and say "Nope!" (1 because I don't street race, thats just STUPID 2 because I know he can take me and I am not STUPID!)
He looks at my car and says back, "Turbo?"
I say "Not yet (this killed me grrr)"
Then he proceeds to rev his engine and let me hear is BOV and all that acting like he is better than me. (Damn punk kids)

Its nice having a car with instant street credit, not so nice not having the turbo to back it up.
Next summer!!!  Maybe sooner with my nice pay increase I will get next month for being a manager.
Just thought I would share.

When he asked to race, I would've just smiled and said how much cash do you have?  Then see what he says.

Mod List.  Um WAY too many to fit on here.  But the engine can handle about 800HP

That would be great till he called my bluff.  Nah, better honest and embarrassed than broke and embarrassed.

Bah, that's why when he says how much he haves laugh, and say "are you serious?  Not worth my time"  Then drive off all slow and cool (unless it's a red light then you'll sit there like a tool)

ok, good plan, next time I see him...  Roll Eyes

I don't care that my car is slow now though.  I have nothing to prove.  Even if my car were done I wouldn't have raced him.
I can't wait till next summer though.  Or maybe this winter... or fall... hmmm

Anyone idiot can buy a turbo, takes a man with a plan to install one. Guy probably never changes his own oil, wouldn't know where to start  Roll Eyes

You get the satisfaction of "knowing" your car.

I would have said to him (like I did over the weekend to some a$$hole kid):

"I wouldn't waste my gas on that piece o' sh*t." (Even though the WRX is pretty damn nice)

I raced a couple WRX's at the strip with my buddies built 1965 Dodge Dart sporting a 440 big block and lost every time this spring.  I can't wait for some pay back with my Avenger when I am done!
