Hey Guys, good to see some old faces.
Well I just traveled back from Colorado to visit the folks in Illinois (1000 mile trip). Car ran fine on the way back, then when I go to start it this morning it would just turn over but not start. It used to do this from time to time back when I lived here (humid as hell) but not to this extent.
Its getting gas I know because I pulled a plug and it was wet, not to mention the smell from the tail pipe (although sometimes I confuse it with the beer smell coming from my tailpipe...). I first took off the cap to see how corroded the rotor and cap looked. They weren't great, but not terrible. I cleaned them up a little, but had no effect on starting (plugs might have still been fouled tho). I pulled the CAI off to see that it had sucked in some grime/dirt which were coating the inside of the pipe (thanks Dreamspeed!). So I am guessing that maybe a sensor has become dirt (IAT, MAP, etc) and is telling the computer to dump fuel. I dunno.
Unfortunately I have none of my books or my data logger to tap in to see what it may be.
I would appreciate any ideas you might have. As nice as Illinois is..... I want to get back to CO.
Thanks Guys.
