Hey everyone.

My car is shifting, really low in my opinion its like a govener kicks in at about 5000 rpms and wont let the engine run any higher. When I use the shifter and put it in first I can get to 5500 rpm tops. Any Ideas

I would first check the tranny fluid (you probably have already).

Is your check engine light on? Also, when was the last tranny service? Could just need a nice flush and fill.

ever notice that more problems show up after your car gets serviced? i'd get an inspection from a different and trusted mechanic to see if anything was tampered with. heck , the dealership blew out all of my bulbs in my car for a tierod replacement and wouldnt fess up to it. you never know....

Yeah it does make you wonder. I always keep an eye on mechanics when they service my car. I watched a Dateline one time that showed a shop causing damage to bring you back in a month or two. Be aware of what is happening!
