Sounds like the fluid to me too but you never know. Ditto on what the guys above mentioned and check the dip stick for any stray metal flakes too.
I would recommend buying the MOPAR ATF+3 at the dealership and take it to a trusted independent garage to put it in....make sure no one there owns a Dodge also

. The only downside to this is that you will have to buy enough for the flush and replacement. ~$180 sounds safe to me in that "you get what you pay for" saying. ~$80 difference on fluid is cheaper than spending $1000++ on rebuilding a tranny that's already weak. But that's just me.
