I am very impressed.

One concern i have is the shape of the bumper. i know you want to keep the exterior STOCK, however, will there be any problems with the exhaust pipes radiating heat that close to the bumper? I'm sure you'd be able to reshape the bumper to encompass the pipes without taking away from the stock appearance [to those who aren't really knowledgable about how the Avenger was set up on the exhaust system]. If you did decide to reshape either the pipes or the bumper, what i would do is route the pipes if there is room [IF there is room], to the two outer openings [one where the original muffler was and the other on the opposite side].

I am still VERY impressed.

And i'm an advocate for the extinction of the mis-use of V8 engines. lol. What good is power if it's handled irresponsibly?

The moment is finally here!  I'll be running the car at the Great Lakes Dragaway (http://www.greatlakesdragaway.com/) this Friday night August 31 from 5pm to 11pm. I'll start the guessing on 1/4 mile time at 15.8 seconds @ 92 mph.

I've driven the car over 100 miles now. The last weekend in July I had the car in a small town car show in Monroe, WI.  Monroe is about 22 miles from my house.

I'm going to drive the car to Janesville, about 25 miles from my house, where a friend will trailer it the rest of the way to the drag strip.  I'm bringing my video camera and will post clips over Labor Day weekend as soon as I am able to edit and upload them.

Sorry Darktengu, I couldn't figure out how to send you an IM.

I was pretty close guessing my ET. My best run was 15.9 at 90 miles per hour.  The car is a complete dog off the line with the 2.94 rearend gears, but felt really good mid track.  Here is a video of that run.  The car is very quiet compared to most of the other cars.  If you listen close you can hear my second gear scratch.  The other guy majorly red lighted so you can't really see much of a race. Later I raced a V6 Mustang but he won with a 15.7.  I'm working on getting a new rearend with the right gears this weekend and may make another trip to the drag strip this year.  I am pretty sure I can get it down to 15.0 even with the crappy motor I have in it. Also, my friend and I ran some calculations and determined that the motor is only putting out about 140-150 horse which you all know is less then the factory V6 that comes in some of the Avengers.  I'll be saving the engine swap to a 350 for this winter.

15.9 Seconds @ 90mph

It was cool to see the Avenger run down the track.  I can't wait for a serious power plant to get dropped in.  Next time maybe I'll even see it in person!!  Tongue

Oh the IM is over there  <<<

It's a little bubble under the Avatar that says "IM"  blue when someone is online, grey when they aren't.
