Any 95-2000 Sebring or Avenger have the same 2.0 engine.  The 95 might be a shade different(i know it has the oil pressure gauge, not sure if that effects the engine)

I think you can look for the 95-99 Eclipse & Talon also, just make sure its the 2.0 Dohc & not the Turbo motor.  The mounts are different & wouldnt bolt up right.

the difference between the 2 is the 95 and mid 96 have the round pin connectors for the coil pack and the late96+ have the flat coil packconnectors umm there are other small differences...the 98 eclipse motors should work fine and as for the gst motors the turbo one if it's the gst and not the gsx it'll bolt in with the gst motor mounts and just the clutch is different...i don't think the auto tranny would hold up either but i don't know i haven't tried this but pretty much you really shouldn't have a problem all i can say is it's probly an earlier model and wiring is different on the ecu and maybe a couple extra sensors or something???

So does it mean that i can take an engine from a 97 venge to a 95 and not have any conflicts?

ECM will be different, no OBDII and the connectors for the sensors and coil pack will differ slightly to the point of madness.
