Performance Question directed to owners of teh 2.5 v6s
« on: May 25, 2006, 01:36:36 AM »

OK i have a v6 sebring lxi 97, well, I am buyin a car to strip out and go straight performance and this is gunna be my looks car, well except i hate when this ricey hondas pull up and try to race me. Its all gravey but i have a 2.5 v6 auto. I have done stuff to the car but what else an i do to make it quicker?
ok i did the cold air intake, then an duel exhaust system no cat with a thrust glass pack, light weight body kit, took off the sc unit and cut down 3 pulleys from it, ground wiring kit, some ecu chip my friend sold me from his old sebring. The rest is all looks, underbody lights, painted engine, glow gauges, gauge brenzel, i have springs but have no clue how to install, i was also hoping someone could asist me in that also.
But anything simple i could do to make it a little quicker

I've experimented w/ a lot of things, but there isnt really much you could do. You could do msd ignition wires, some have experimented with programming you could try that. for some it works..but not for others, it may depend on what you already have done to your car. You could always go for custom parts, that'll cost ya of course. headers, polishing and boring intake manifold. Just to name a few...o yeah..of course..the smaller your rims, the less the car weighs..of course you wouldnt wanna roll 13's on ya bring tho. o yeah..there's this HUGE plastic thing in your front bumper, it is really heavy, I removed mine so that knocked a good 20lbs off.

Well you can goto a smaller rim size, altho I had a set of rims that were 14" that weighed the same as the set  of 16" I just put on my Venge lol.. So not always do you have to go smaller.. Honestly, if you wanted more power it woulda been better for you to start with the 3.0 which puts you at around 200+ hp to begin with.. Then do the mods you have now.. Exileracing.com offers a ton of performance parts, so you can check them out or try other members on aseclub.net.
Theres usually a ton of stuff floating around

Those are hard to come by. A couple of companies used to produce them (Xir, Xerd) but I don't think so anymore.
