is a cone filter on the end of your stock intake the same as getting a short ram intake?  if not , whats the differance.  also does anyone use the pre charger or dry charger from k & n?  if so was it worth it?

Not REALLY a short ram is much smoother so air flows better as oposed to the crappy plastic bends not smooth factory piece ...
I've not seen any huge difference between the regular K&N  ,Pre charger/or dry charger

rough intake paths provide for turbulence, extremely upsetting flow. Think of it like packing a suitcase. if u fold the clothes n put em in neatly, you can fit A LOT in...if you just try to stuff em in..you wont get very far. the upset air just robs you of potential power is all.
