really...i paid around $400 to get mine done...I had an accident so the mechanic assumed it was b/c of that accident. driver side front?

how do you find out about this because I went on the dodge site and it says for my vin # there are no recalls

that's probably becuase the recall work has been done once. i got the same thing off the site and teh recall was done on my car.
be aware that just becuase the recall was done once, does not mean that they won't need to be replaced again.
