Well my car has many mods to make it quicker and with 156k probably wasnt a good idea (sebring v6 auto) n e ways, so i havent drove it in forever, i took it out last night to cruise and now my car is SlOw-it just had a tuneup and all, my tranny wont shift when it reaches 60mph like its stuck, my quarter mile is like 28 seconds, WTF, is my car dead?
well, dont really get much from the question, but seems like you have a tranny issue, if you had that flush then you can get rid of that thought. Also, avengerNYC posted something similar about his mom's car. It could be the same thing I couldnt say for sure, but what you could do is make sure your tranny is in proper working condition. It could be the sole cause of all your sisues
Can you tell which gear it gets stuck in? It could be the "limp mode," which is a safe mode to avoid transmission damage. I think the PCM won't allow you to shift to anything higher than 2nd in this case.
If its the tranny in safe mode, then the computer has detected an internal tranny fault.
I think the 2.5L V6 has 4 oxygen sensors, and I don't know if there is a way to determine which of the 4 are dead. Someone in here should have a good idea though....
see if you can find a garage that can scan transmission codes. same with the oxygen sensors..though you can get those codes scanned at an autozone for free. the local autozones here don't scan trans codes. they will give you a Pxxx code and that you can use to determine which sensor is bad. if your car is a 96+ it should have four sensors.
where in the exhaust? there are three oxygen sensors on the downpipe and one on the exhaust header. depending on the year of your car. you need all four sensors. they're none after the catalytic converter so any pipe you replace after the downpipe is really not going to have any effect on the oxygen sensor operation. if any one is not working you're gonna have problems.
