Parting out - 95 Avenger V6
« on: April 27, 2006, 10:26:28 PM »

First things first - I used to be on an older asog forum as black99i4 in case you do not remember, and that is also my eBay username. If you look, you'll see that I have 100% positive feedback.

I am parting out a silver 1995 Avenger V6. It has about 140k miles. The engine runs and the vehicle moves back and forth, although I can not say a whole lot more about the condition of the engine and trans, as the right front suspension is tweaked so bad the vehicle can not be road-driven, and I bought it wrecked. For an interested buyer, I will at least make a video of the engine's cold oil pressure, hot oil pressure at idle, and hot pressure at 2000 rpm. In a perfect world, I would also run a compression test, but as you know, that's more than a little difficult on these engines.

Parts which are still good:
Engine
Trans
rear suspension
driver's window
driver's side rear quarter panel
both doors - one has a couple of small dents
hood - again, a couple of dents, but probably cheaper to fix than buying a new aftermarket one
driver's side foglight
driver's side turnsignal
taillights
radiator, and most of the underhood accessories, for that matter
almost all of the interior - gray, with power seats. Unfortunately, someone tore the headrest on the passenger side while moving the car with a forklift.  Angry

What isn't good:
Front fascia (other than the emblem, which I suppose I could peel off if somone is interested)
right side turnsignal or foglight
headlamps - they're faded, and a couple of the mounts are broken, but I suppose if someone wanted to try and use them, I could let them go really cheaply. I know how expensive new ones are.
Front fenders
Passenger side quarter panel
trunk lid

I'm going to upload some pics, they should be up in about 10 minutes

Also, looking at those pics, the passenger side power mirror is also okay. And yes, some snow did get in the car, but it was below freezing, so it never melted, and I cleaned it out. It has been covered since then.

As for the washer nozzles, really? I suppose $5 if you pick them up or $10 shipped - $2 for shipping and $3 for me to have to take time off from work to ship them. Plus I like round numbers.

I dunno that I can do that... I need the trunk cardboard, because the one in my other venge is broken. Sorry. Also, I do not even think I could ship a package big enough to fit the trunk cardboard for that price, let alone work toward repaying my investment in the car. I can still sell the window switches and trunk carpet to you, though, if you're interested for $20 shipped.

The interior is gray. Did you mean to say "cardboard"? Because if so, I'm definitely keeping it, to replace the broken one in my other venge.

I hadn't been able to reply for the last couple of days and just saw that this was locked... but then I found the unlock button... did I accidentally lock it, or did a mod? I wasn't contacted about anything, and sorry if I've done anything wrong.

Anyway, back to the carpet. I can not remember how good the carpet is, and I am across the state right now - but I will be there on friday, so I will look at it and see if it's even worth selling/shipping. As for the cost, that does not sound too bad, but I want to get it out and see how big and heavy it is so I can estimate a shipping cost before I say for sure. Can you tell me where you're at so I can use that to estimate shipping?

The hood has a couple of smaller dents in it that don't really show up in the pictures, but it's not, by any means, bad. The car is located in Chariton, IA - zip code 50049. It's about an hour south of Des Moines. Is there any way you could pick it up? Shipping has to be killer...

As to everyone else who has shown interest in this thread and via PM, where'd you all go? Seems like right about the time I respond to a question, everyone disappears.

Thanks,
Ben Wantland

Brian, assuming I estimated the size and weight correctly of the shipped carpet, I can get it to you for $75 shipped.
