v6 swap specifics
« on: April 26, 2006, 10:17:41 PM »

I have recently had some troubles with my engine it had started to burn lots of oil and im almost ready to part ways with it. I was looking at doing the swap to the 3.0 from the stratus/sebring/galant i understand the basics about the engine but is it a direct bolt on to the tranny or do i need to go shopping for a tranny also??

Thanks for any ideas

I DO believe the 3.0's are direct. most of your parts from your car you will keep. You will only be changing the block basically so you will be safe with the same tranny...not transSEXUAL ...transMISSION

I only know of the sebrings, stratus' and eclipses. THey all have the same rating and stand corrected. I dont know what year for the eclipses though, would be nice if the 06 eclipse did that....It's probably too wide though...I'd do some research on those. check out the diamante, I'm not 100% positive but someone else here might know.

Would you need to heavily modify anything to put the tranny on too?

you don't have to touch the trans...

but I would install a high stall converter...
