I was at my local Dodge dealer looking to buy an EGR valve for my 97 Avenger and they had 2 prices. One was $141 and the other $102. The parts guy said the cheaper one is mopar's new value priced line that are just as good as the more expensive parts. I find that hard to believe, of course he didn't have the cheaper one and said it isn't available yet. Has anyone heard of these parts?
My mother in-law just bought a used Jetta with leather and she asked me what she should use to protect the seats. I've never had leather before, so I'm not sure what would be good to use. What do you recommend?
So I'm leaving someone's house at 10:30 at night and when I open the door with the key the alarm goes off and the key in the door won't disarm it. Neighbours start coming out, so I drive off with the horn honking. When I get home I figure out that the passenger lock will disarm it. I pulled the horn relay and fuse and unplugged the horn. I then pulled out the door switch, and you guessed it, totally corroded to the point one of the pins was gone. Yes my interior lights on the driver side haven't worked for a while. I put in a new switch and everything worked fine. My question is, when I tested it the horn honked even though it was still unplugged. It was about half the volume. Is there a second horn, and if so, where is it?
I'm also from Winnipeg. There may be more, I've seen a very nice blue Avenger with stripes, scoop and a full body kit driving around Winnipeg. I wonder if he checks out the site. I have a black ES with black badges and stock 17" rims.
It looks like I have oil leaking from the back head gasket on my 1997 2.5L. Does anyone know what is in the Technical Service Bulletin about the head gasket for this motor. I checked on the net and there are two TSB's but they don't give out any info. Any hidden warranties?
I tried again today and it came off. I found it easier to get a good grip by lifting the arm as when you change the wiper blades. Thanks for the advice Davedodger. I will put on some anti-sieze after I paint them. Thanks Bad Venge for that tip. For anyone trying this, let the WD/40 soak for a couple days and it will come off a bit easier.
I just tried the WD/40 and pulling like a mad man method and it didn't work. Even let the WD/40 soak for about 5 hours. It didn't move at all and I was worried I would break it. The dodge dealers must have a special tool. Any other methods out there? I'm sure a few of you have had the wiper arm off. I'm replacing the passenger side hood hinge, the old one is sloppy and makes the hood rattle. I can't get to the back bolt because of the plastic cover at the base of the windshield. I will try to pull on it again, if I don't get any other ideas. Maybe it will work this time. Thanks
Has anyone removed the wiper arm (not wiper blade) from an Avenger? I've tried a wiper arm puller and gear puller but they won't go around the post. Thanks
