Thanks for the pic. You must have a different year. On my car the ASD relay is on the left side of the firewall. On the right side is the Purge Selenoid, Fuel Pump relay and EGR Selenoid in that order. Thanks for the help anyways.
I found the ASD relay on the left side of the firewall (standing in front of engine) but didn't see any relays next to it. Where exactly is the tranny relay that u mention?
It's actually stuck on 1st. If I go 30MPH it revs to 3500RPM and on w/ more speed (no shift feel whatsoever/RPM never drops). It got stuck on 2ND only once. That time I could go 40MPH @ about 2000/2500 RPM. I dropped the pan to replace fluid/filter and everything looked normal, just old fluid. Still has problems. One thing I know though, is that if the car sits for about 2 days without running, tranny would shift fine until I restart the car or put in Reverse then Drive. What could this be?? I'm about to replace the output sensor to see if that helps. Any other ideas?
So I plan on doing this flush myself and have a couple of questions. The trans cooler lines, are they the ones that come from somewhat top of the tranny (about 1" diamater) to the radiator? Also step #8 on downer's method, why is it necessary to fill the container w/ fluid?
I checked to see what codes I would get using the Check Engine Light w/ ignition method and I got 12 and 55.
12- Battery Disconnect 55- Completion of fault code display on Check Engine Lamp
I dont get the battery disconnect since the car runs. My problem is w/ the tranny. See 96 Coupe Transmission problem thread. #55 I assume is what everyone gets after getting all fault codes read using the method below(which I used). Maybe someone can confirm this. In case anyone doesn't know the method I refer to do this:
*Turn ignition key ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON within 5 seconds. *Count the # of times the Check Engine Lamp flashes. (first flash will come within a few seconds) -There is a short pause between flashes to represent the digits. Longer pauses separate 1st and 2nd digit.
I had a seal replaced inside the tranny about 2 years ago. It has no leaks at this point. Yes, it's stuck on 1st. I watch the rpm and by feel of the car and it doesn't shift.
The car has a problem that when I shift into (R) or (D), it shift w/ a hard thump. When shifted onto (D) it gets stuck on 1st gear and won't shift over. Now I can't drive it anywhere. It's a 2.5 w/ auto trans. Fluid level is good. Anyone knows anything about this?
