Does the Iceman Intake for the 420A I4 work for the 6G73 V6 as well?  All of the stores say "for the 4 cylinder model".  The one I was looking at was the Weapon R intake for about $150.

Yeah, I see your point.  It looks like a 3.5" flange filter would fit over/under the stock tube right before the box, but it is a bit flimsy and might not compress well.  PVC pipe would be a good idea but might restrict air flow a bit more.  Plus a K&N cone filter is $50 by itself, so maybe if I can catch a short ram intake on an auction I can get close to that price.

Has anyone thought of just dumping the stock air box and getting a K&N cone air filter to stick on the end?  It seems like that is the biggest restriction, and maybe it would be high enough where it wouldn't inhale any water if you ran over a puddle.

Some of the higher end CAI's are overpriced for me.  I'd like to get by for less than $100 if possible.

I'm somewhat leery of the CAI for the water inhalation problem.  Anyone have the AEM or Injen ones as well, I forgot those.

I have a question regarding new air intakes.  It's usually the first and easiest performance step for most cars, but I am stuck on what to get.  I have a K&N filter (#33-2072) in there already.  It seems there are three options:

1. K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit (For Avenger V6 #57-1524) - about $200-250
2. Cheap looking aluminum tubes with cone filters on the end from eBay - $25-50
3. Short Ram Intake - about $140

I don't really know what a short ram intake is.  I thought a ram intake would be taking air in from the outside directly through a hood opening (like a trans am).  The eBay ones look cheap, but maybe for an intake it doesn't take much and you guys have good luck with them.  Last but not least, is it really worth it?  Is a regular K&N replacement filter good enough?  Thanks for any guidance.

Great, thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, I noticed koni's were $150 each (8041-1207 and 1208 Sport) for the adjustable sport struts.  KYB GR-2's are in the $50-60 range.  Should I be worried about strut mount plates and boot kits as well when replacing the struts?  My car is only at 75k miles.  Thanks for the help.

I am in the same boat.  I was looking at the KYB AGX adjustable struts (#741018 and #741019) for mine.  I think Koni makes a set too.  They run about $90 per strut.  I would be curious to hear from anyone who has them concerning ride comfort and handling.
