you may want to take down the evidence (this thread) of his insurance fraud (seriously a bad thing) so that he doesn't lose his cash and go to jail... not that it is likely, but weirder things have happened than people finding out about crimes on the internet and catching those doing them..
You know I am up for another denver meet once the new car is out here so I am not rolling in the dak for this one.. plus the drive up for me at 100+ through the nothingness of NM will be much nicer in the venge than the dak I am sure... of course in the bright red venge I may get pulled over more..
Yes, it is kind of nice to be on ASOG again... I remember first joining this site the week before I got my 98 sebring... which would have been hmm... wow... late July early Aug. of 2000.... it has been a long long time...
once I get my car out here or once Beth gets me picks of it cleaned up after she goes to work on it (she's a neat freak I am sure it will be detailed atleast once while it is in the DM shop) I will have to throw up those pics as well...
Yeah, and that is not to say that they would let any random person drop their car off over there to be gotten running and store it for a few months... but it is to show what kind of service they give you if you do take them a car to work on. I am sure that the whole, "Hey can I have this non-running car I have never seen before dropped at your house right around chryslers at carlisle and then leave it sit there for 2-3 months?" question would have been in the realm of pushing it had I not known them for quite a while prior to this (and who knows they might have been ok with it even then, but I wouldn't have asked if I didn't already know them you know).. However I will also say that it is the storing part that I see as pushing it not the asking them to check the car out and fix it after billing me for parts/shop labor part of it..
Just as an example of their awesome service, I will post something here I have not posted at ASEC about the new car I just bought off ebay that wasn't running, a decent looking 12yr old (96) I4 5sp venge.
I asked when I was looking at my new venge as it was in PA about 100 miles from their shop, and I live in NM.. if I could have it dropped there for them to get it running (Jeremy and Jim are an awesome team, especially with an I4 5sp.. lots of experiance there) instead of shipped cross country, and then, beyond that, if I could leave it there for a little while until I can get time off work and the cash to fly out and drive it back. My car was dropped off last week, within 5 minutes of it being dropped off as they knew I had not been able to see my car in person, one of them (Beth to be exact) was outside on the phone with me doing a complete walk around of the car noting off every small imperfection, down to a few small dings that are not creased that are about the size of a dime, on my 12yr old car. That night, knowing the car will probably sit there for a while until I can come get it (again, they are awesome and agreed to store the car for me) they were out there and working on my car trying to get it running and had me on the phone again letting me know what was and wasn't working and what they thought I needed. They didn't have to do that, I told them to focus on anything else that comes in and just have it done by Sept-Oct time frame, but that is the kind of people they are, the car was there, they didn't have any other cars to work on or stock to send out, so instead of taking the night off (they were working on it at like 6pm my time, so 8pm eastern) they decided to go check out my car and see if they couldn't just get it running. Then over the weekend, so like 2 days later (car was dropped off thursday) Beth got online and sent me 40 close up pictures of everything she could think of that I would want to see, the small oil leak we had already talked about that is going to be fixed with what needs done anyway, the small door dings, the condition of the hood that I knew needed replaced when I got the car, the small amount of paint cancer, the interior and the few stains in it (that she then went out and put a pretreater on to clean out for me), etc.. every aspect of the car that she thought I would want to see she got a picture of, and if it didn't show up well, she had Jeremy who was there at the time come over and point to it so I knew exactly where in the picture to look for the minor flaw. That is service, dedication, and good people I tell you...
Yeah, Beth and Jim, along with Jeremy who is basically living weekends at their house and helping with this enterprise, and a few other ASEC/ASOG members (not sure if they currently are, but I do know I first met them here on ASOG back around the days of the sleazy board, so not exactly people who have been around for a short time in these clubs historys..) have had their hands in assisting with this as well to get it off the ground...
They have my complete trust and respect when it comes to everything, I have ordered things already, I have windshield banners for both my dakota and the 96 venge I just bought on the way so I can advertise for them, and I will order more from them in the future.
I have met and hung out with them, I have talked to them online for years, and I can say from personal experiance that they are awesome people who I fully trust.
