1  Tech Forums / 6 Cylinder Tech / Re: Tune up?? on: January 25, 2007, 06:01:09 PM
Thanks so much...the car has 195,000 km on it right now.  Everything is in mint condition...ext and int. Lots of new parts, and a rebuilt tranny...so I ain't gettin rid of it anytime soon.  NGK Platinum sound good...as far as the wires, just something reliable...not necessarily for performance are good enough.  Oh, does anyone know generally how long their thermostat should last?  I put in an OEM Mitsubishi about 2 years ago, and now I got no heat...??

3  Tech Forums / Transmission Tech / Re: 96 Sebring doesn't like to shift out of 2nd Gear on: July 20, 2006, 07:39:57 PM
I don't know if this will help but here's what my 95 Sebring Transmission saga goes:

1.started to go into limp mode
2.flushed fluid at dealer (worked fine for a while)
3.reflushed fluid at lube shop
4.chrysler quotes $2k rebuild (new pump, etc)
5.local shop replaces a leaking seal
6.rebuild done for $1k (everything new - solenoid, sensors,etc)
7.same problem 6 months later
8.someone else says "hydraulic modulator"? or TCM is problem
9.codes come up 42 - 2 4 solenoid circuit error
10.Chrysler says needs new solenoid pack
11.Test drive to occur later today
12. Question - do I have the fluid flushed again?  Most likely its not ATF+3
4  Tech Forums / Transmission Tech / Re: Tranny flush on: July 20, 2006, 07:34:15 PM
Chrysler flushed mine once, no problems...a year later a "Lube Shop" flushed it again, tranny broke down.

I went back to see why the "bump shift" and limp mode were still happening...Anyone ever heard of the "HYDRAULIC MODULATOR" as being the problem?  The part is around $200...I just wanted to check if this was a common cause (besides incorrect fluid, and the rest).  Thanks so much

I know, and this is a "friend of ours" so I can imagine he will do it free of charge.  I may just go down there with my own fluid!!!!!

I would like to add all this stuff for the system, but I got other pressing issues right now (tranny) that I have to deal with.  Anyone heard of Insignia amplifiers?  Any good?
10  Tech Forums / Transmission Tech / Re: Tranny Questions on: June 01, 2006, 05:12:29 PM
I had a tranny rebuild done about 8 months ago...everything was done - all sensors, clutch pack, upgraded solenoid pack, new pin etc...It worked and shifted like butter for a while (until now).  I am now getting the bump shift, and the limp mode is happening all over again.  I suspected then that the wrong fluid was put in (they tried to convince me it was) Apparently, someone at Chrysler even told them Dexron III "should be ok"...ANYWAY, should I just do a fluid flush, or should I flush fluid, replace filter & gasket, etc...or could it be something else?? Thanks so much guys, I appreciate the help and advice....take care

Hey all...I'm gonna be doing this myself (at a friend's garage) ...just wondering approx. how much ATF+3 I should bring?  Perhaps 2 gallons?  I'm not sure on the exact amount.  Thanks alot
13  Tech Forums / Audio / Visual / Re: Speakers on: May 29, 2006, 03:30:42 PM
I put the Infinitys in...not too bad of a job for an amateur.  But ya, the drilling and cutting was okay.  Anyway I just put these in cause I got them for 40 bucks on eBay.  Now I want better 6x9's and a new amp!  It never ends does it...?
14  Tech Forums / Audio / Visual / Re: Speakers on: May 26, 2006, 08:18:25 PM
What speaker(s) are a direct fit for the front doors, besides the stock ones?  I bought infinity 6021i thinking that they fit, and they don't.  I don't want to drill, etc to put them in...is the size 6.5 inch?
