So heres my dilema, 1200$ to rebuild my auto transmision, or ~400$ to swap a manual into my car. I think i know which one im going to do. I've already obtained a manual trans(nvt-350?), shifter, clutch cable, and clutch pedal for 200$. I have on order a knew flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing. Now i know for a fact that im going to need a differant mount on the trans side. Which mount do i need to obtain and from where? I DONT know if i need differant axles, if i do, which ones and where. Help is much appriciate guys. Thanks in advance.
I just recently did a headgasket change on the car, a 96 dodge avenger with a 41TE 4-speed transmission. The car was on jackstands for about 3 weeks. When i pulled the car out of the garage, there where no leaks what so ever. I drove the car around for about 30 min. before i started have problems. First thing that would happen is while turning and acclerating, the rpms would go up and i wouldn't move. But then eventually something would grab and the tires would screech. It started happening more often after a few hours of driving. Now when at a stop, if i let off the brake, it doesnt move forward. When i hit that gas the rpms go up and it will eventually grab. when that happens if i dont keep the rpms up, the car will stall. I did check my fluid, and it was low, still on the dip stick. I added fluid and it seemed better for a little while.
Also, when im turning the car is when it leaks, like puddles. So, does this sound like a torque converter or transmission problem?
hey guys i just got done doing a head gasket set replacement on my 1996 2.0L 4 cyl Dodge Avenger and it seems that my trans is slipping now. It worked fine before i did tha head gasket set. now it seems that it is leaking pretty bad and im not sure why or how it is. im thinking it may have been tweaked from lifting tha motor up and down on a jack. please help out any way you can id appreciate it
