it is in decent shape body wise, the front bumper is cracked up on the bottom as all these cars are, little rust on the hood, but other than that. The car is not running at this time, however, i know that the timing belt has broken. engine has 150.000X miles. I would like $2500 for its a little too high for a car that does not run at this time, but i look at these cars{especially with the 420a engine and 5psd} as rare cars. I will understand if you will refuse. It is located in new jersey.
Your car might be worth $1500 in good running condition. Knock about a grand off of that because of the trashed motor.
there is no way in hell that I will sell this car even if it was in good running condition for $1500. a 95 avenger with a 420a engine and a 5spd tranny? for $1500? i dont think soo. The least that I would sell it for would probably be 3000 dollars in good running condition. Simply because This car is just too rare. They dont these kind of avengers{im talking about 95-2000 ones with that speicifc body look} any more. Sure they make the new avengers which are newer, but they are not appealing to me as the old one.. The old ones are much nicer, look more sportier, safe, decent in speed{both the v6 ones and the 4 cylinder ones} besides, in about 10 years or so, this car is going to be a classic car that I would probably be worth some where around 30,000 dollars, maybe even more. After its hooked up of course. any way... I guess this is a sign for me not to sell the car.
I-4 5-speeds aren't as rare as you think. I own 2 of them and am having a hard time getting $1800 out of one of them.
Vipers are even more rare. In 10 years, a 1995 Viper won't even be worth 30 grand. A lot of classic muscle cars aren't even worth 30 grand. In 10 years, the only place you will see Avengers for sale is on $500 or less budget car lots. lololololololol

I am the proud new owner of a 1998 Dodge Avenger 5 speed with 108,XXX miles on the clock. I looked around at a couple Avenger based forums and decided I liked this one the best. Now, I'm generally new to cars although I'm not completely oblivious. I have a couple of questions about the car for you guys that I was hoping you could answer for me.
- I was looking to replace the stock rectangular air filter with a cone shaped air filter (most likely K&N). Where would you guys suggest to buy the adapter to fit the cone air filter onto the stock location?
- I was looking around to try to find information on a CAI, but could only find information regarding the 6-cylinder version of the car. Does the 420A have a mass produced CAI option available or would I have to make a DIY one? Would this even be worth the time and effort, or would the performance gain be negligible?
- What kind of oil and spark plugs do you guys recommend I use?
- Is there any other information about the car I should know about?
Thanks guys, Bill
