If you are talking about the front lower lateral arm and ball joint assembly, and I am not mistaken (pretty sure about this one though), they have a lifetime recall on them. If they are bad take it to your local dealership and they will check them out and replace them if needs be, free of charge! The recall covers the FRONT only.
Not tyring to Hi-jack your post but i have another queation. I am entirely familiar with the "key dance" process. I am ASE certified so i am not entirely oblivious to trouble shooting and diagnostics. With that said, whenever performing the ignition cycling procedure i get no response. Is there a valid reason for this? Keep in mind i can connect a generic OBD2 scan tool and link, read, and erase codes as needed. Its just a pain in the a$$ when it comes on on Friday and i have to wait until Monday to read and erase the codes at work. Anyone got any ideas?(I know you're thinking "Why don't you just go to Autozone and have them read the codes for you", the answer is simple.Thats where I work and I try to spend as little time there as possible)
Im not sure about Mitsubishis but my Nissan windows quit working as well. After wasting $160 on an uneeded motor, I did some digging and discovered most power window systems have a relay/amplifier assembly located somewhere in or on the door its self. Check behind the door panel where the armrest would be thats usually the best bet.if you cant find it hook the window switch back up and follow the "clicking" sound.
A thank you goes out to Nykon for answering all of my questions and the advice. For everyone wondering I ended finding a 96 ECU and using it instead of a 97.
All right Im going to try it. I'll keep you guys posted as to the outcome of my hybrid engine management experiment. It will be about a week beofre I'll have any news. Wish me luck!
I just got copies of 96 and 97 PCM pin-outs from the Chrysler factory service manuals. To my surprise they are eactly the same right down to the wire color and circuit abbreviations. You dont have to switch anything around at all it all matches up with no descrepancies. So why wouldnt a 1997 PCM work in a 1996 as long as its engine and tranny are the same? Has anyone in here tried to swap a 97 PCM into a 96? I would think that as long as the donor car had the same or more options than the receipiant everything should be alright, what do you think?
I have got another question for you regarding PCM's. I have aquired both 96 and 97 PCM pin out diagrams. The only difference in them is the locations of injector #3 & #4(locations 7 and 16) and the Idle air control valve pins #2 and #3 (locations 48 and 49). If I was to de-pin these at the PCM connector and relocate them into the 97 positions according to the pin-out is there any reason i could not use the 97 PCM instead of another crappy, problematic 96 PCM?
Sorry to jump in but its cars manufactured prior to Feb 15, 1996 that have the huge problem you told me about Nykon, not all 96's are bad
Ladies and Gentleman your attention please; I am proud to announce the build date on my ECU/vehicle is Sept 1995. Which makes it one of those problematic ECUs!!!!!!!! YEAH!
