Again, not my pictures.. but

Black-Banded Leporinus:

And the much cooler Tire Track Eel:

The one above is 12" long and the one we have must be around 4-5" and is a darker color.  From what I've read so far they can be friendly and you can teach them to eat out of your hand.  I just wasn't sure if anyone knew about them so I could take better care of him since he's pretty cool.

Unfortunately all the fish now in the big tank are hiders..lol.  The eel is cool as he'll just dive into the gravel and the Leporinus hides under the large rocks.  We had to buy another tank as the  Leporinus kept eating all the smaller fish and that's why there are only 3 in the big tank right now.  I'll see if I can find some pics of the eel and  Leporinus from the web.  The 3rd is just an algae eater so he's not as interesting...lol  We're just starting out, so I am a bit parionold that I'll kill them off...lol.

We just picked up a new fish this weekend.  A freshwater Eel.  Wasn't sure if anyone here knew much about eels.  He's pretty cool.  Called a Tire Track Eel.  They of course told us that he'll only get like 12" long... turns out the guy was either wrong about what kind of eel it is or just didn't know how long they really get.  It seems from what I have read on the net that he should get to be about a metre long.  Still cool, but I don't know if we would have gotten it since we'd have to buy a new tank in the future for it.  We stopped by another store and got some blood worms for it and he has come out of hiding.  So anyone an eel expert out there to give me some pointers?  I really don't want to kill him.  LOL.  Thanks.

That is pretty cool.  Though I don't think I'd pay 150 for it.  I have a wood working friend.  I'll pass the idea onto him.

That would be cool.. Looks like it might be easy if you knew what you were doing.  I'd love to hear how it turns out of he does try it.

This was cool, albeit a bit pricey.

I got $4000 from unclaimed money a few years back.  Seemed when I was a kid a bank went under or got bought out or something and I was owed it.  Pretty easy to do if you are owed money.  It was a nice surprise tho.

I saw it on some late night French talkshow.  Now I don't speak a lick of french (Alain can attest to that..lol), but understood enough of what I was seeing to get the jist.  The talkshow host seemed to like it ok.  She seemed sorta not sure, but she ate it.  I think they also called it a luther vandross burger as I could understand that part at least.  Now if they deep fried it all and put powerderd sugar on it.. that would be interesting...HAHAHA.

Hey Mike,

Good luck with your car.  That sucks.. tho congrats on the new house!  Too bad we're not closer to lend a hand. Sad

We do have NAPA up here in Canada as well as UAP.  Just depends on the place I guess as to what they call it?  I get all our parts at NAPA as they give me deals.

Probably not is the answer I'm getting.  I also don't see it as cost effective as from what I remember the stuff is around $100.
