oh there is no way i would do all those bolt ons without increasing my engines internal breathing capabilities. I know that the intake manifold and TB, and etc... would actually hurt more probably than help(all items together). thanks for the info.
okay theoretically speaking, if i were to do a port and polish with port matching on the head(got a spare one for cheap) along with the intake manifold, throttle body, header, crane cams(the street profile ones), cam gears, springs/retainers, underdrive pulley, catback, test pipe, and cold air intake. and tune off of an AFC of some type where abouts would i be in regards to HP/TQ? i dont want to really mess with the internals because i dont wish to spend that money because i do plan on boosting in the future. the non-turbo cams i can resell around here locally pretty quick as well as the header. just some hopeful thinking. thanks again!
unfortunatly i alreeady did that, turns out the headlights had been leaking into the inside of the housing, these things are pretty tore up. cheapest ive found is 300bux for the pair on ebay. But thanks for that tip!!
well ive got an AEM cold air, and 2.5 catback. wanted to go boost but prob not for awhile now.(got a new baby on the way!) so im going to have a little fun with some bolt ons and what not. Which company makes a decent throttle body? and which headers would you personally suggest? im not looking to make major power, because im not that naive being N/A on a 420A with a tight budget. Just enough to have some fun with. i honestly dont know what a target streetable N/A HP goal would be on this motor?
out of the cars that came with the 420A(neon,avenger,eclipse) , other than the neon valve cover not fitting, what is the interchangability of other parts? such as oil pans, pulleys, etc..etc...?
well i scored a new p/s pump, the rattles were a mixture between shot motor mounts(threw in some polyurethane mounts) and exhaust heat shields(welded the up). and got a new a/c compressor the other one was locking up.
now just tying to find the best deal on an aluminum radiator. 300bux for a mitsumoto is the best so far.
it takes time to get to know the engine. so having a little help is fine. looks pretty good from what i can see
thanks aaron, ive got many issues i am dealing with now. need a new radiator, car blows the engine fusable link when the a/c is on, the p/s pump pulley bearing is shot and screaming, the headlights are horribly yellow inside and out. and ive got many rattles to track and tighten.
I would rip that "thing" out by the time i would go to 4th gear... just dont see myself driving with that huge spot light hitting my face when i "should" switch. 3k is my shift point and i know exactly how the car sounds when it is time to switch.
its hard to see it in the pictures but how i have it angled it doesn't "hit me in the face" and its not that big either . i will admit that i am a bit unfamiliar with the 420A motor, and am still learning where my power is and the optimal shift points. i am using the shift light as a temporary(hence the Velcro holding into place and not screws) tool to help myself so i do not have to stare at the tach will driving. so i guess to each his own.
