11  Tech Forums / Transmission Tech / Re: Gen Clutch Rplcmnt Quest for 01 Sebring V6 on: November 08, 2007, 06:40:31 PM
Hi Guys,

Just purchased an 01 Sebring Coupe. It's the V6 3.0 L and it needs a new clutch. I was hoping somebody might have some insight (brand superiority for instance, why is a sachs kit 2x as much as an Exedy), and expertise (specs on the '01 clutch, reliable parts dealers, expected pricing, etc). I really don't have the know-how or the resources to do it myself at this time, so i plan to purchase a kit and take it to a transmission shop have the work done. If there are better ways given my current limitations I'm all ears. Any help is greatly appreciated.

labor wise your looking at about $350-400 range. The Exedy unit that you are looking at is more than likely just the stock replacement, not a performance unit. Here at our shop we use the Exedy or LUK clutches for just stock replacements. The Luk Kit is about $250-280 from autozone, But i am positive you could find a better deal online.
