I got a carbon fiber one for a manual off of ebay for $55. The carbon fiber look is just a thick sticker over top of it and it was starting to fall off so I got curious and ripped it off and it is like a dark gray/black metallic underneath which I wanted in the first place so I am happy. It looks great.
Well the other day I developed an exhaust leak in my flex pipe on my downpipe so I went ahead and just ordered a cheap header for now and hopefully it fits ok. I also went ahead and got a Flowmaster 40 series muffler just because I was curious of how it would sound. I'll have to let you guys know how it sounds when I get them and have them put on. I don't have a cat either so hopefully it's not so loud that I'll get pulled over for it but I love the way Flowmasters sound on other cars and I'm hoping it sounds decent on a 4 banger.
We have a friend with an inspection license lol. We don't have emissions testing in central PA, but they're supposed to look to make sure your emissions equipment is still there. A couple years ago (when I had it done), I don't even think they bothered doing that
My car is an I4 5-speed has no catalytic converter on it and a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler. Its deep sounding at idle and when you give it some throttle it's really raspy (but not with a ricey tone) sounding and it pops and crackles when you shift or let off. Doesn't sound ricey to me, it just sounds wild (I don't know how else to explain it).
LOL I used to have a cheap cone filter on the end of the stock intake. The first one fell off sometime when I was driving so I got another one and screwed it on before i put the clamp on haha.
I had a friend tell me once he took a bar of soap and held it to the inside of the belt with the engine running and that made his belts stop squealing.
