your set-up seems to be okay if your clarion amp is  true 200 watts rms, and is clean power.
try building a new box with a slot port tuned to between 38- 42 Hz.  Call up Kicker and ask for tech support, they'll be able to tell you exactely how big to build your box depending on your listening preferences.  Just my .02

You might look into some MTX coax's, they sound pretty good and have awesome Xmax for coax's. If you can come up with the money, purchase some good seperates. I installed some Alpine Type-X 6.5"
in a customers '98 bring and they sounded pretty good.  I put the midbass in the door and put the tweeter in the dash location.  I wired the midbass 60 degrees off-axis, and the tweeter was dropped to -4.5 dB, due to the reflection off the windshield.   I highly reccomend seperates running off a good amp.

If you listen to that type of music, and you want good sound quality, try looking at an Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1d, in a sealed enclosure. The sub calls for 350 watts rms, but I know it will handle up to 600 watts rms of CLEAN power.  The sub is rated at s/n of 96db, thats pretty good.  MTX's new line of subs are awesome, you would be fine with a MTX T7512-44 in a ported box, it will be loud and pretty responsive if you tune your port correctly.  I built a box for this sub for my shops demo car, tune at 38hz, with a 12 dB gain at 50hz.  it rocked.  The sales person that demoed the sub, loved playing the type of music you listen to.  As for amps, MTX are pretty clean and powerful, for either sub, i'd reccomend a MTX TA3401 mono block.  It's rated at 400 watts rms at 4ohms.
As for you concern about your charging system, see if you can get a Stinger battery, such as an SP800, or SP1000.  that should do fine unless you plan on adding amplifiers, then you might look into extra batteries and an alternator.  Oh 4ga power and groound wire will be needed for the TA3401 amp.  Hope any of this helped.
Also, look into getting a line driver for your amp, I have an Audio Control Matrix. I also know that the Audio Control Epic 160 is pretty good, it acts as a eq for your sub amp, it also measures dB's.

you can still have distortion at low volume levels, your going to want an amp to push those properly.   If you can find and amp that has clean power and a high s/n level, you should be fine.

I actually would prefer to have my center reflect off the windshield for better height and imaging, but I'll try anything.
