Title: Weather
Post by: Darktengu on November 16, 2005, 11:56:36 PM
I don't know how crap has been in the rest of the state.  But I work as a Security Administrator for the City Bus System.  The weather today has been crazy.  The rain last night mixed with the snow today all froze, giving the streets a mean icy coat.  Cars couldn't even make it up some of our bridges.  Just been a shitty day in Green Bay for transportation.  Thought I'd see how the rest of you were affected.

I left for work at 5am this morning, it was 37 degrees. Got to work at 7:30... it was 29. I left my jacket at home and had to wear a thin ass windbreaker BRRRRRRRRRRRR

Flurries all day, nothing special except our building landlord forgot to turn off the sprinklers...... made an ice sheet up to the doors and sat up front to watch people ignore the sign and slip. ::)

LOL that's awesome.  People never read anything.  Drives me up a fricken wall.  I have people with a sign blocking their view, so they'll have to move to look around it, then when you tell them to read the sign, they say they couldn't see it.

DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH

That's too bad you didn't have a good time in Minnesota. I personally love it. If you don't mind me asking. What made it suck so much?

-30 DEGREES

3 days it was warm and started melting snow, next morning it froze up. Our warehouse we were moving into was like an ice hockey rink and had 3" of ice. Trucks were sliding from the dock doors, chemicals didn't work at anything below -10.  We had to lug 4 racks of servers and 3 phone switches from the street by hand..... busted my ass on the ground 10 times.

Summer was OK, great afternoons there and aside from the mosquitos it was better.

I was born and raised in Texas, spent 21 years with a temp never below 24 degrees and saw snow 1 time in my life until 98 and moved to Chicago. :P

Minn wasn't too bad the few times I've been there, but I've been in WI for most of my life.  Though I did like Georgia when I lived there.  Texas was too hot and humid for my taste.  I would like to hit up Colorado, maybe move there.  Otherwise it's Australia bound!

Jeez! SANDMAN, I guess you had a bad few days here. I was born and raised here. been here all 21 years of my life. I have never left Minnesota. So I'm used to all that kind of crap.

Your state officially hates me. ahaha

The worst place I stayed in was Oklahoma City... and not by choice. I was lucky enough to be stranded there in a hotel for 5 days during a massive heat wave and a plague of grasshoppers. (no lie) The whole story about that is hilarious now that I look back on it.

Grasshoppers bite. HARD.

Yeah the drive home was pretty crappy.  The plows were out early, but I get done at 11pm and the roads were all iced over again.  I had no traction the whole way.

Oh excrement that sucks royally.  My driver side stuck, but my passenger was fine.  Luckily.  I took a hand torch to my locks one day.  I found a trick that works.  Heat up just your key.
