will a neon dohc 420a bolt up to my a604 also will the ecu work from the v-6 or do i need one from a 4 banger i can get this motor dirt cheap

The head on the Neon is backwards.  So you'll have those issues to deal with, but yes it will bolt up.

You will need the computer from the SAME YEAR as the motor you're getting.

so eclipse head and ecu or neon ecu

The only thing we have in common with a neon is the cylinder block. That's the only thing your going to be able to use. The oil pans are not even the same.

will it bolt to a A604 YES only if the A604 is the one made for the 420a and not the V6
will it fit in the engine bay NO end of the thread

so a v-6 a604 will not work with a 420 even if it comes out of a venge or eclipse

well anyone know where to get a 3.0 for pretty cheap also do they have a turbo kit for that

so only feasible swap is the 6g72 sohc out of an eclipse anything else i need a new trans. damn that 4g63 i can get is looking better everyday might have to bust out the welder and make it work anyone seen silvercoupe around? or jason lee

I think that we need a big popup window when you log in for the first time that has a "Read this manditory info" tag on it, explaining the v6 turbo option and what will swap with what etc etc.  I mean seriously this question gets asked at least once a week it seems like.

yeah yeah i read them all im really gonna do a swap the motor is out already and in all the old post there is so much bs that there pointless to read and for the record carparts.com dont have any mitsu motors. Also how bout the evo motor i have seen it done in a gs eclipse and i dont see any talk about that. I mean every knows the age old ? about the vr-4 setup and we all now it wont work but the 3g guys say the heads and turbo set up works on the sohc block which i know is still bs and it wont work the head would be backwards. But with the evo the welded up the evo trans to make it just fwd so how could i get the whole d/t in or what trans will bolt to it. I'm not sure the car ran but the motor did bolt up I got nothing but time i have owned this car since 99 and it still looks as good as the day i bought it. And i have what every dsm owner should have a beater with a heater lol. Anyways ill prolly scrap it and buy a gsx
