Eclipse or Avenger?

Avenger as of a week ago thursday (not driving the 2 hours to take a picture of it)

Yes its in a field, yes it has a big dent in the door, yes its sitting on spare tires all the way around.  Will be hopefully towing up it in the next month or so to start rebuilding and restoring.

Wow, at first I didn't even recognize that as an Avenger -- that's the exact opposite of my super stock look!  Nice.

one day im going to lower it, but it is a daily driver right now.  we both know the fun white crap that we have to drive thew.   I would not want to do any 4X4ing anymore.  I should be getting it back from the body shop  Wed or Thurs with all fresh paint.   I will have to post some pictures of the damage (got sideswiped on a bridge at 60+ mph).

here's 4 close up of the rust on my car

I decided to rebuilt it this year and started the work last sunday after 2 years of not driving it and letting it sit in snow and grass

the worst is the joint in the passenger side on the rocker panel and rear fender from under it is rusted throught with a hole about 3 inches wide

those are easy fix
also 1 broken door handle on the passenger side
and the torque meister has no more idle it keep swinging from 1000 to 2400 rpm at park and neutral and keep steady

I hear a crunshing noise when I turn right

but luckily I have tons of extra parts new and used

I have a tiny patch of surface rust on the bottom of each door, as I figured out after I took my moldings off. nothing the paint job won't fix.  ;D

Alex, has your's ever been wrecked? the gap between the hood and the bumper looks too big.

Yea i was driving on a rainy day when this lady was stopped at a green light with no blinker or anything. I tried stopping but the car hydroplaned into the back of her minivan at like 10 mph. Bald tires ftl.

Ouch, but rest assured that it's all fixable.  Mine looked just like that before it's big restore two months ago and now it looks practically brand new.  The only thing they couldn't do was restore all the original gaps...  too much patchwork bodywork done on it from previous injuries and injustices.  Ah well, it is 13 years old.

lol. thanks. props go to another ASOG/ASEC member on the idea for the exhaust look. The exhaust system was Nykon and I's idea.

for now, these things cause an earthquake, so they're good enough, if I get a bit hungrier, nothing smaller than 18's  ;)

Great idea guys!  I always thought the stock exhaust tip on the I4 looked pretty nice with that rolled/flared end and large (for a 2.0l) diameter, but just had to get my resonator and muffler done this Monday (13 years, can't complain) and went to Meineke because it was quick and cheap and my wallet's hurting from the last three months of other mechanical/restoration work.  Now I've just got cut tubing for an exhaust tip that looks like excrement and I think it's smaller diameter to boot, not to mention the sound's totally changed and I hate it.  I was hoping to get that nice mechanical singing/whirring back like when it was new, instead I've now got a stuttering low end rumble that sounds about the same as when it was broken, just not nearly as loud.

I should've got quotes from them and the dealer and then made a choice, instead of just assuming I'd be okay with the work.  I was just in such a hurry to get rid of that embarrassing junker sound, now I'm basically stuck with it...

I have a nice tone tone all the way up to 6k. That's usually the highest i get when i'm 'playing'. lol. It doesn't sound ricey either. it romps [if that makes sense].

Caster had a good deal on these over at asec a while ago.

its pretty nice its really for a turbo setup, which is what i was planning on doing until i had to get my tranny rebuilt so now i have a bunch of parts and no more money  :-\

Thanks :). I got the green one a lil more than 2 years ago{its a 2.5 v6}, and I got the black one last year, its a 5spd with the 420a/dsm engine. Its not running at the moment, but its okay, im planning to drop a newer engine in there when i get a chance and some extra funds.
but you are right, my next step is to put to do a sebring front bumper swap and then paint the green avenger. I am hoping that I can do it before september is over{while summer is still here}so I can still enjoy driving the car in the beautiful summer, and maybe even drive back to the college that I used to go in new jersey{man, I didnt like college but those were some good times and memories} and maybe even go inside and hang in the hall inside the college and act like Im back in college and act like a student for a day lol, or just bump to some music next to the college, and try holla at some blond american girls and show them the engine and maybe even let them use the automatic stick shift if you know what I mean...

yeah I hear dat. I'd do the same, but mine is like over an hour away and it's a tech school...so much for chicks ;). sounds like you got it down tho, pics and progress are always  nice!

well i live in new york now, so that college that I was talking about is 2+ hours away from me because I dont live in new jersey any more, but il be sure to stop by at that college when ever i go back to visit my family in new jersey.
but yea, i know about tech schools.... only nerdy and geeky girls go there, if at all...lol
but hey, you can go to the mall and cruise over there. a mall is always a good place to see some nice chicks and even pick up. i just never accomplished it yet because i havent put enough effort into it, but im wokring on it, lol.

yeah same here man, I'm actually in upstate NY (albany/schenectady area). you rite tho, LOTTA chicks at tha mall ;) evry so often I just hit the clubs. back in college, I did that every weekend, fun times. hung out with this kid from LI, he went there too. I got all summer, def. gonna make the best of it tho.

I got it all washed up today, cleaned the leather and carpet.  I did not clean my wheels the best, but I am going to pull them all off this weekend to wax them and maybe paint the calipers.

Yeah that's at teh wheels. But mind you, that's right after me and another member played tag on teh higway to Carlisle and it was 100 degrees out. I'm seriously shooting for 200 at the wheels. I wanna be the first to achieve that w/o boost or juice. ;D

good luck with that and making it streetable. do a search for a topic of that nature in the v6 forum...you'll need more than luck. :)

Well I've been going over what mods are left that I haven't done yet and I think it may just be possible to squeeze out another 30 whp w/ the remainder of the possible mods. Plus tranny work. And a dyno that SRT-4's haven't ran on for 3 days straight. ;)

Lol the trip to Carlisle I got about 29 mpg to the higway w/ ac on most of the time, cruising w/ a member, and 3 dyno runs.

Well, I'm gonna try the rest of the bolt-ons and the tranny rebuild and see where that lands me at. Basically what I can think of that's left is an SAFC II, ICON if I could find one, Port and Polish, Port and Match, 3.5 Intake, Cams, Cam Gears, Intake and TB Spacers, Upgraded Fuel System, and there's probably a bit more that I can't think of. But I really am trying to do this. Maybe w/ a built all-motor, it could take a 250 shot. :o But it would be nice to see a stroker kit.. :D

I have this little gadget that tells me how much hp I have at the crank, cost me $150 i havent really had time to go to a track and see where I match up, i did floor it a couple times, went up to 157, but it only loads so often and i dont stay at peak power for any amount of time. highest it went to was 157...and thats at crank, I'm sure it goes higher, but I'll take it to the track to find out...the gadget itself has a lot more functions, miles per gallon, rpms, Intake air temp, Coolant temp, Throttle %age, %age of engine power being used,  does give you the power at all different rpms, you have to do it with someone else in the car though. It gives you open or close loop, cost per minute (fuel use) and tons of other info. its pretty nice!

Hmmm I'll have to look into something like that. I was gonna ask teh other member I was w/ if I could borrow his Beltronics for a sec. but I forgot. ::)

but see, thats where other problems come in. the cams you would use for an all motor build would be different from nitrous cams. an sacf and icon would fight each other because safc's pull timing when you take fuel out. would offset what you're doing with the icon. also, there would be a good chance you'd need high comp pistons to get that number and thats another thing you'd have to change back later when you went on spray or boost. a properly built motor should hold a 250 shot just fine but i doubt the transmission would last long

Hmmm... I dunno I'm gonna try my best. I figured the SAFC and ICON would interfere. Hell I might as well just boost, but not before I try to hit 200  ;D

remember the lime green valve cover that i took off? well, having to replace it and the gasket kinda finished off the VC bolts.

come on you know you can't apply too much torque to those things, as soon as they START to tighten, then just leave it. It sucks finding out the hard way...

it's called a scan gauge II. they are marketed by linear logic. there is a hack code to get the horsepower rating, I have it available.

I think dubs would contradict the metallica blaring out all 4 windows....
