Title: Brakes Post by: 97avengerguy on April 04, 2008, 04:03:21 PM Well my rotors are already warped in under 6 months and im not hard on my brakes so i wanna go with drilled and slotted rotors. I was wonder what would be good to buy. Do the Gsx rotors work on our car.. Or would you need brackets. And stuff. Any help thanks guys.
Title: Re: Brakes Post by: show95avenger on April 05, 2008, 03:11:35 AM disturbing motorsports sells drilled/slotted gsx rotors and the gsx brake caliper kit.
Title: Re: Brakes Post by: Boost Creep on April 05, 2008, 08:21:25 AM in order to use gsx rotors, you need to get gsx calipers and brackets. like nick said, you can get it at dms. otherwise theres plenty of stock size rotors to choose from.
Title: Re: Brakes Post by: Shiano on April 05, 2008, 08:20:01 PM $219 for the DUAL piston Calipers, Pads, and rotors.
Do it. Do it. Title: Re: Brakes Post by: 97avengerguy on April 06, 2008, 12:57:47 AM $219 for front in rear.. A buddy of mine has a wrecked Gsx that i might snag the calipers and brackets off. Is there a really big difference in stopping.. Cause i hate the way my car stops. And 6 months and my rotors are already warped thats not right lol..
Title: Re: Brakes Post by: Shiano on April 06, 2008, 05:51:06 AM ok. you're using a 1 piston caliper. The GSX's come with a 2 piston caliper. and the price is for the Front SET. not all 4. the front 2 are direct bolt ups. the rear, require a little customization.
and yes, they make a difference. just ask Nykon. Title: Re: Brakes Post by: 97avengerguy on April 07, 2008, 01:14:16 AM Ight thnz shiano im thinking about going that way.

Title: Re: Brakes Post by: show95avenger on April 07, 2008, 04:22:19 PM for the GSX brake swap you need calipers, caliper brackets, pads, and rotors.
http://catalog.disturbingmotorsports.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_2_12_73&products_id=290 $220 gives you everything you need. unless of course you want to upgrade your rotors/pads which i recomend doing. I was talking about the rear having to have a little customization. Title: Re: Brakes Post by: Shiano on April 08, 2008, 08:14:19 AM lol. yeah sorry about that. i was thinking about the 3000gt's when i typed that.
Title: Re: Brakes Post by: 97avengerguy on April 08, 2008, 05:29:39 PM What would you have to do for the 3000 gts to make them work for the rear. Im leaning more towards them cause its cheaper im kinda a tight budget right now with like my whole front suspension trying to go bad on me.
Title: Re: Brakes Post by: Shiano on April 09, 2008, 03:40:33 AM well, if my memory serves, i know that you'll have to use a different brake hose...
i'd hit the search button up. make it your slave. lol. Title: Re: Brakes Post by: 97avengerguy on April 09, 2008, 03:40:45 PM Lol Ight hopefully some more deals will come up later cause my rims got bent yesterday so thats top priority now.
Title: Re: Brakes Post by: Boost Creep on April 10, 2008, 05:34:23 AM So what would you have to modify to make them work. nothing. they are the same thing. just leave your stock ones on there Title: Re: Brakes Post by: Shiano on April 10, 2008, 12:01:43 PM the 3000gt has the same rears? well. apparently i DID fall asleep during that part of class.
Title: Re: Brakes Post by: 97avengerguy on April 10, 2008, 03:43:53 PM Ive decided im gunna do the 3000gts instead of the Gsx. There more in my price range and what i want.
Title: Re: Brakes Post by: Shiano on April 11, 2008, 01:37:19 AM i thought the 3g's were more expensive than the GSX?
Title: Re: Brakes Post by: 97avengerguy on April 11, 2008, 03:44:17 PM I cant really find any used GSX stuff. Ive found front and rear for the 3g's for under 100 buckes. Than rotors are about another 150-200
Title: Re: Brakes Post by: Shiano on April 11, 2008, 04:15:11 PM Go back and READ everything this kit comes with. You will find that it is by far, WAY less expensive... (http://catalog.disturbingmotorsports.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_2_12_73&products_id=290)
of course, that IS just the front. Title: Re: Brakes Post by: 97avengerguy on April 11, 2008, 05:07:45 PM I found a kit for a 3g that has the whole front kit for under 100 Rotors pads and calipers. So in a way the GSX is cheaper. After i was to buy everything.
Title: Re: Brakes Post by: Sroufe7 on April 12, 2008, 04:52:34 PM You can't use your stock lines with the 3000GT front calipers.
That is the reason most people go with the GSX kit. I wouldn't put used brake parts on my car. I'd like to know I am putting GOOD parts on my car, since brakes are kind of important. Title: Re: Brakes Post by: 97avengerguy on April 13, 2008, 02:50:06 AM Ya i no... if i get brakes now ive been leaning towards the GSX kit. Ive been pricing everything and its about the same so im better off getting new. So ill keep ya posted Sroufe
Title: Re: Brakes Post by: Gr8witeLxi on April 15, 2008, 12:16:11 AM Might as well change the lines If you upgrade your brakes anyway.
Title: Re: Brakes Post by: Sroufe7 on April 15, 2008, 12:56:34 AM We can get you the correct SS lines if you want.
But it's not going to be cheap. Title: Re: Brakes Post by: Gr8witeLxi on April 20, 2008, 08:18:18 PM We can get you the correct SS lines if you want. But it's not going to be cheap. What kind can you get?... I have the Earl's lines.. and am told they are very good. Title: Re: Brakes Post by: Sroufe7 on April 20, 2008, 10:01:26 PM We can get Earl's and Russel. The Earl's lines at the moment are special order. But we stock the Russel lines.
