It was a balmly -5f last night...brrr.  I think we got more than you Chris, or it just was blowing more here.  Back door the snow was level with the stoop.. From what I've heard this is what snow used to be up here.  I know my cousins up here used to tell me of walking to school on the tops of cars and my mother in law can remember walking to school and being able to about touch phone lines..lol.  I haven't seen snow up here like this since we lived in Shakespeare when we lost that Daytona we gave you in the storm...lol. (I've lived up here now about 9 years or so).

the roof of a house collapsed this morning in my hometown close to where my parents live because of the weight of the snow
a man died inside the house after saving it's wife and 2 kids

and in another town a few days ago a commercial building collapsed again because of the weight of the snow
3 women working inside were killed

this winter is crazy

That's extremely depressing.  It's amazing that he was willing to do that.  So many people now days think only of themselves.

I guess you live in QUebec as well ;P Where exactly are you? The roof at my job ( Provigo) collapse last week, we are finally opening after 2 weeks this thursday... Luckily it happened during the night, imagine what could have happened during a day packed with clients :( Stores and malls really need to shovel/scrape the ice/snow/water build up before another sad event happens...

damn, our "winter" was over 3 weeks ago.

I'm glad this guy had the courage to save his family. We need more people like him.

I guess lesson learned is climb up there and shovel your roof once in a while.

Is it covered by their home owners insurance?

he was too late , the collapsing happened sunday morning and he previously asked his brother to help him clean the roof sunday afternoon

I hope the home insurance will cover this without a fight in court

and my hometown is not over yet , weather forecast for wednesday to friday 18 to 20 inch of snow !

If they dont thats some crappy insurance. 18-20 of more snow holly crap. That suckes.
