Title: Lower seats? Post by: Kingsblue on February 28, 2008, 01:47:54 AM Hey guys. Does anyone know of any seats that will fit my 98 avenger ES that sit lower that the ones I have? I am quite tall and I feel like I sit too high. Mine are power, not sure if that has anything to do with it. My head is way too close to the roof. Any info would be appreciated.
Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: JusBringIt on February 28, 2008, 04:59:39 PM well...when u say tall..how tall? the power seat can be lowered, but unless ur 6'10 or taller, there shouldnt be any issues, seats go back n forth, up n down,

I'm 6'4" and have no issues ??? Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: Kingsblue on February 29, 2008, 03:20:51 AM Yes, I know the seats adjust, I just wish they would adjust lower. I'm only 5'10" or 5'11". I also have the steering wheel at it's highest setting and I have trouble getting my legs under it when getting in and out. Not saying that there's not enough room, but it would be more comfortable if the seats were lower. I guess I'm used to the way my '86 Chrysler Laser used to ride.
Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: Nykon on February 29, 2008, 03:25:16 AM I am 6' I have no problems. You should be able to push the power seat button down and it should go down.
Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: Kingsblue on February 29, 2008, 03:29:09 AM Oh, it does go down, but I have the seat in the lowest position and in the rear most setting and I still could use another couple inches lower to be comfortable. Like I said, maybe it's just what I'm used to. Seems like I could find some seats that bolt up that sit lower though. Didn't know if maybe the manual ones could considering there's no motors to get in the way.
Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: Nykon on February 29, 2008, 03:34:17 AM The manual seats might go a little bit lower because they don't have the motor underneath... I seem like I sit lower in my Eclipse... and it has the manual seats.
Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: JusBringIt on February 29, 2008, 04:35:13 AM 5 10'? seats all the way back? man i'd hate to drive in the back of your car, i had a friend of mine who would have his seat all the way back, (he owns a 4th gen eclipse) he's ur height, he didnt have a problem getting it, but it was annoying as hell..even in a 4 door car i couldnt fit behind the asshole.
Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: Kingsblue on February 29, 2008, 04:42:07 PM Yeah...I just wanted to add that I have about two fingers worth of space above my head when sitting up straight with the seat all the way down. With it all the way back I can reach the pedals comfortably. Seems like I should have some more range. Maybe there is something wrong?
Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: 97avengerguy on February 29, 2008, 06:38:36 PM Im 6' 1" i dont have any problems and my seat is all the way back and at its lowest setting. lol
Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: Kingsblue on March 01, 2008, 12:36:12 AM So does anyone know what manual seats would bolt up to my 98 avenger? What years of Avengers, Sebrings, Eclipses?
Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: JusBringIt on March 01, 2008, 04:39:20 AM not to be off topic but...damn there's a lotta tall ppl here!, anyway all year avengers, all 3gen eclipses, all 1st gen sebring coupes. i beelieve 1st gen stratuses but dont quote me on that

What do you concider short then??? ??? wow.. I can't see how you have a problem.. did you check if theres a brick under your seat from letting it go down all the way.. :D ... cuz you should have no problems with the roof height. your my height.. I have tons of space to spare. Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: Bad Venge on March 01, 2008, 07:30:25 PM 95/2000 venge bring seats will bolt in as well as 95/99 eclipse talon ones ...
Some racing seats will be lower and you can cut the brackers to lower then more... Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: Kingsblue on March 05, 2008, 05:32:29 PM Thanks Bad Venge. I'll have to see what I can find in maybe a manual stock seat. Every time I get in and out and fight with getting my legs under the steering wheel, I curse it. Apparrently I am the only one with this problem.
Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: Tig on March 19, 2008, 01:35:14 PM i kinda have the same problem you do feeling too tall in the car and i'm only 5'8". i think its because the electric seats are so tall. i actually have tiburon seats in my venge. they are much lower and feel like comfy racing seats. but i did have to modify the track a bit to get them in. the reason i have these is because i bought a beater crx that had them in it not even bolted down! when i went to drive that car and turn a sharp corner, the seat was leaning! lol! i thought the seats were really comfy so i figured i'd just see if they fit in the venge and they did. so we put my venge seats on the crx when we sold it and i now have tiburon seats in the venge. i no longer feel like i'm too tall in the venge. :)
Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: Anson on March 19, 2008, 03:49:05 PM its gotta be something with the power seats, i've got manual seats and im about as tall as you and if i put my seat all the way down i feel like im sitting on the road.
Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: 97avengerguy on March 19, 2008, 03:56:28 PM I have power seats and im 6'1" I dont have any problems but my seat is all the way back and at its lowest setting. I actually like it more than my grandprix. In my grandprix i feel like im sitting real high up in the air.
Title: Re: Lower seats? Post by: Darktengu on March 19, 2008, 07:42:11 PM 6'4" with power driver seat (added aftermarket, but it's the stock set up) And I feel fine. I guess I'm just not as whiny
