Title: ASOG Canada Winter Meet-NEED A NEW DATE
Post by: True Horsepower on January 02, 2008, 07:39:32 PM
How does Saturday, 9th of Feb sound to everyone?  Gives everyone a bit of time to make sure they are free as well as the 10th is Dave's birthday so it would be nice to have friends around to help eat cake...lol.  The basement should be mostly done as well I hope.  I'll send out an email as well for all that don't get a chance to read the board anymore.

Jill

Yummy, Alain!! Poutine and Montreal Smoke?  :)

Yeah, Chris.. pass the word on to them as well.  We've been meaning to get together, but we're working on the basement this week while Tara is at Dave's parents... if you get bored you can come out and drywall ;)  We're running to the store to get some more supplies so we don't have to run out again for anything else...lol.

We won't be doing anything downstairs on Sunday as it's Tara's birthday.  If you and your family are free come on out.  We'll be working on it on Sat tho.

I don't know of any places like that at all.  I do have a deep fryer, a set of good knives and we could get some potatoes.  We might starve to death before we made enough tho...lol.  Maybe I can just buy a huge bag of it at Costco?  lol  The rye bread sounds good as well.  I never knew it had a bread to go wtih it as well! :)

We will have cake and ice cream for sure!  Yummy!

you have a month to find anything fast food related ha ha
over here we have something almost every corners on commercial streets
cooking fries would be way too long and frozen french fries don't do justice to a poutine

Oh NO, Alain!!!!!!  That really sucks!  I hope they either find your van or you find something else to drive soon as you'll need it for work I'm sure.  I am still hopefull that you might be able to make it, but if not we understand totally!  Wow, that just really stinks tho... I also hope that you didn't have a lot of equipment in there.  Wow.

luckily I emptied the van a week ago because I had to go to united states
I wasn't insured against theft
so I pretty much lost $2500

my parents found me a 1998 very basic caravan for cheap they are trying to have the van inspected today

If I'm buying I'm falling from the top of the line interior all wheel drive long wheel base biggest engine available and overdrive
to a 3.0l 12v mitsu 3 speed atx just like an old K car cheapest interior available short wheel base front wheel drive  :'(

and that's pretty much the only thing I could afford right now

Mike, good to see your still alive!  Too bad you can't make it, but it is a long drive and all.  At this rate I'll never get to see the new car... still enjoying it?

It is a bit of a drive, but I've got a buddy's 30th that night too so I will drink in honour of my friends at ASOG! lol

Anyways Jill I'm still sort of enjoying the car, I've had a few problems with it which have been pretty annoying, I've already done the water pump, Timing belt/pulleys, power steering pump. I've got some weird rattle which I *think* might be related to the spark plug rotor.. but it's -25 out so that can wait haha...

Oh and I'm pretty much 100% convinced that my rear shocks are completely dead and are the reason this car handles so poorly.

On the plus side the car looks awesome I love the leather seats and man that Infinity sound system is something!

Hope you guys are doing great, I do miss you all!

Yeah, we miss you too and you won't believe how much Tara has grown.  Dave's 01 has 230K kms I think now.  The rear shocks are gone on his too.  Still a fun car..lol.  Next time you get this way to see family we'll take a drive down and see ya even if it's for a hour or so.  Just let us know!

Ok, we have a family obligation to go to on the 9th.  We're going to have to move things.  What new dates are good for yas?  Maybe this is a good thing and we can get everyone out now.

that would be so great because there's no way I could make it this weekend for several reasons
most important one beeing money
buying a caravan was really not on my budget and it drained me completely while I am between jobs
