Title: 2.4 head
Post by: ambrose on November 01, 2007, 01:57:09 AM
i have a ? does any one know if a 2.4 head bolt to a 420a ? can this be done? i was under the impression that the block castings are same, and the displacement differance
is in the head. has any 1 tried this i know the 2.4 heads are backwards to ours. but that is just plumbing.

Hmm, I know you can go from a 2.4 block to a 2.0 head.  I'm not sure about the other way around.  I don't know of anyone that has tried it.  You can try it.........  But I think the big problem is going to be routing the exhaust.

From what I've heard, all the 2.0/2.4 head will interchange, as far as bolting on. Supposedly they are basically the same head, I know the SRT guys like to run 2.0 cams in their 2.4's. For that matter, the 2.0/2.4 head also bolts onto the old 2.2/2.5 engines and works, this also has been done many times.

you put a 2.4 head on a 420a block and the result is a neon dohc engine with bad camshafts compared to a stock neon dohc engine
you drive an avenger/sebring
