Title: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Gr8witeLxi on April 19, 2007, 01:21:59 AM There is one of these sitting in the body shop I work at...
(http://www.erebunicorp.com/images/spoilers1/avenger576RW58.JPG) I can probly get it for 25$.. what do you think? BTW.... I would not put it on till I have a kit. Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Bad Venge on April 19, 2007, 02:17:14 AM Touring wings are SOOOO LONG ago ....Those were big in the late 90's hardly see them anymore
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: redstar_gearhead on April 19, 2007, 05:59:33 PM I wasn't a fan of those even back then, I'd get something that flows with the body of the car a bit better.
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: greg on April 19, 2007, 06:06:17 PM i like those. if you dont take it let me know....
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Gr8witeLxi on April 20, 2007, 05:12:14 AM I can do anything I want with it, remember I work at a bodyshop now ;).. I think I might shorten it up if I get it.. about 1/2 inch or so.. But I think that wing would flow nicely with a viper kit.
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: greg on April 20, 2007, 01:09:03 PM nah if you shorten it it'll rub.
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Aaron on April 21, 2007, 05:04:55 PM yeah well if he works at a body shop i think that the wing can be worked on to be a little bit shorter and not rub and yea that one will go well with the viper kit they both have strong lines!! nice by the way
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Shiano on April 25, 2007, 10:57:54 PM remember: the rear of the car is curved. the wing does not flatter that contour. it fights it.
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Gr8witeLxi on April 25, 2007, 11:10:52 PM Cut the bottom to fit... ;)
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Nykon on April 26, 2007, 05:49:24 AM My opinion, SHOPPING CART!
I thought you were selling the car... and finally Redstar, is that a GS-T Eclipse wing on your car? Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Gr8witeLxi on April 26, 2007, 12:37:47 PM My opinion, SHOPPING CART! I thought you were selling the car... and finally Just planning ahead just incase it doesn't sell... ;) Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Aaron on April 28, 2007, 03:15:44 AM the car is curved ys but the kit helps to sharpen it a little bit and since its the bring the lights will be the only real conflicting thing on there afterwards
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Enemytoast on April 28, 2007, 03:50:40 AM And the man does work in a body shop...
If this isn't waaay to old, I say take it and work it out. Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Gr8witeLxi on May 14, 2007, 11:50:02 PM Late update.. I bought the spoiler today... 25$... :D
Don't know when I'll put it on.... I got TC2 skirts coming in... and need to at least get my hands on a aftermarket front before I throw the spoiler on... I probly wont put anything on till I get a whole setup though... so I can get it all painted in one shot.. and I will also be throwing a wicked clear coat on it... If there is no further discussion about the spoiler ... we can now discuss my clear coat... ;D I'm thinking gold flake or pearl blue clear coat... what do you guys think.. gimme some ideas. ;) Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Nykon on May 14, 2007, 11:54:59 PM I vote blue
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Ivan on May 15, 2007, 01:18:29 AM please blue.... gold is so "austin powers" style lol ;D
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: DangerboyJr on May 15, 2007, 04:02:39 AM blue
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Shiano on May 15, 2007, 04:14:07 AM ditto. post a pic of the blue vs the gold if you have 'shop samples' so to speak. we need to see how the two clear coats contrast and compare.
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Gr8witeLxi on May 15, 2007, 04:24:22 AM It's hard to tell in pics.. plus a biotch to find a sample on the net..
the blue pearl is white that has a metallic blue glare in light. and the flake is just flake.. gold... Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Nykon on May 15, 2007, 05:27:26 AM Gr8, when you get your wing on can I borrow your car to go shopping... I want the best looking shopping cart in town. ;D
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Gr8witeLxi on May 15, 2007, 10:38:53 PM oh.. won't that suck when a shopping cart beats you in the 1/4 mile at carlisle. ;)
;D Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Nykon on May 16, 2007, 01:14:49 AM HA!
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Gr8witeLxi on May 16, 2007, 02:34:22 AM HA! I would love to see the Bring beat the Eclipse
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Ivan on May 16, 2007, 08:57:16 PM hahaha ::)
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: chuck mcculloch on May 17, 2007, 02:43:08 AM i think it will go with the viper kit...give it a t/a racer look kinda
(remember guys a body man never leaves things looking the same) you can rework a lot on a wing. i have a color in mind that will give you the best of both colors but i have to check my paint chips out in the shop...can't remember make/code... it is a tri coat color with a strong blue-gold/yellow flop. its a euro color and i've considered it for the wifes 95 (now silver).maybe with some ghosting. Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Gr8witeLxi on May 17, 2007, 02:59:23 AM Be glad to hear what you got for me.. but I'm not looking into more paint... It's way out of my budget.
I'm just matching the aftermarket parts then new clear. Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: chuck mcculloch on May 17, 2007, 03:13:23 AM this color goes over a white base..its a translucent "kinda candy" but not totaly
transpearent as a candy would be and should be able to spray car with not much more than a quart.if not a quart. i'll get info and pass it on if i can find it in the mess. Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: Aaron on May 17, 2007, 10:53:41 PM sounds like it will look nice since the car is white i would go with the blue though the gold goes nicely its stilllllll nicer to have the blue i would think, though this is your car and you in the end have to decide...good luck and give us some pics!
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: turboavenger98 on May 19, 2007, 07:33:35 PM after you see what chuck has choose beetween that and the blue because the gold will throw it off
Title: Re: Aftermarket spoiler. Post by: chuck mcculloch on May 29, 2007, 12:32:12 AM after you see what chuck has choose beetween that and the blue because the gold will throw it off can't find that chip!!! tore the garage all apart (now gotta clean it up) it was origionally found in the sikkens color scala flip outs. think it may have been alfa romeo or lancia not 100% sure though. also think it may have been color scala chip #1658/1659 still not sure but if you(scott) have access to sikkens chips check them out. pretty sure it was in the 1600s though somewheres mid to end (you'll find it easilly if you can flip through them looking for something like it cause it stans out) one way you look at it its blue and the other dir. is yellow/gold complete 180 flop but just pearl not the new $$$ color shifts and they are not strong colors(and you can always reduce and make even more trans.)sorry!
