First put the parking brake up, and loosen the shifter knob.

Remove the HVAC/Radio trim piece

Remove the center console cover don't forget to remove and wire connections.

Remove the 12MM nut on the side of the shifter

Slide the old shifter out to the driver side.

Install is the reverse!  Follow instructions with your particular short shift kit, and install factory parts in the reverse order of removing them.

But does it have the pictures?

Oh and when I need to shift 1st or 2nd my entire console moves to the left.  I have to figure out what to do about that!

oh... sorry, I forgot I had the Eclipse console in mine, different boot hole...  It looked to me like you had popped out the auto dealy and put a boot in it.

Nevermind then.   ;D

I could'nt even get mine to shift in 1st or second.I notched out the plastic under the boot on the left side for clearance. The boot still covers everthing fine.My short throw is a Fidanza brand.

Yeah I might just cut the entire hole a bit bigger to give it a clean look.  We'll see I can manage for now.

I love it.  It's not going to make me WAY faster but it's nice not to damn near bust my knuckles on my CD player.

The console needs to be modified no matter what to fit the short shifter. It wont shift into 1st without modifications or the entire console shifting

I can shift into first and second.

I've seen many cases where the short shifter causes problems with clearance in the venge console. An Eclipse console is the best solution.

My setup: B&M short shifter, Symborski bushing kit, underhood shifter bearings. Gives it a great tight feel rather than all mushy.

Heres a good write up with pics for the Eclipse console: http://www.turbo4wd.com/Turbo4WD/B&MShortShifterInstall.html

Show off  ;)  Looks good.  I don't know if I'll ever get around to doing an eclipse swap for the interior.  My money goes to the motor.  So I'll probably just do some cutting.

Though the smooth rise of an Eclipse looks better.

Well see, to me the Eclipse console flows so much better. It's not like dropping a watermelon off a building and then being told you have to move it 50 yards away from the building.
