i like the sound of the flowmaster 8) Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Darktengu on April 16, 2007, 03:33:36 AM I'll put mine up after I fix my water pump. The exhaust sounds good the bearing whine does not!
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Nykon on April 16, 2007, 03:35:29 AM Bearing whine?
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Aaron on April 16, 2007, 03:41:17 AM the bosal was on the eclipse right?
....a little bit high pitched for my taste unless it would sound better on the V6 bring?? Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Enemytoast on April 16, 2007, 04:02:03 AM DT thats not your water pump thats your exhaust bearings! :o :o
btw, sounds good Nykon. Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Aaron on April 16, 2007, 04:17:00 AM oh yeah the car does sound good btw
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Nykon on April 16, 2007, 04:24:12 AM Yeah, bosal on eclipse
flowmaster on the venge Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Aaron on April 16, 2007, 05:18:13 AM make that cars then.
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: DangerboyJr on April 16, 2007, 02:04:48 PM I like the Bosal. Only because its not so aggressive
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: mcgyvr on April 16, 2007, 04:17:51 PM That sounds NOTHING like my bosal catback.
(or my flowmaster when I had it) Mine sounds good. Those clips sound raspy as hell. You need a resonator big time. Ill be a geek too and try to get the sounds of mine for you also. Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Matt on April 17, 2007, 12:56:32 AM :-\ that's why we recorded the venge?
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Nykon on April 17, 2007, 02:04:46 AM Well yeah... they asked for it.
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Matt on April 17, 2007, 02:11:22 AM it sounds ok, just a little raspy
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Nykon on April 17, 2007, 02:53:40 AM Its your car, fix it :P
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Matt on April 17, 2007, 04:11:02 AM not a bad raspy. You take things too personal
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Ivan on April 17, 2007, 07:11:50 PM :D
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Rob Brown on April 17, 2007, 08:52:01 PM i think i will buy a flowmaster 40 series once i replace my muffler after hearing that i like it !!
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Matt on April 18, 2007, 12:05:34 AM Ha. you see that? they like how my car sounds..
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Rob Brown on April 18, 2007, 02:12:44 AM well they do get a bit raspy at HIGHER rpm's BUT that is typical for cars like these basically anything thats not a V8 LOL....
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Nykon on April 18, 2007, 02:18:20 AM Well like mcgyvr said, it needs a resonator. I had them taken out cause I listened to somebody that didn't know.
I had one put back in and it helped a lot but obviosly there is still some rasp there. Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Rob Brown on April 18, 2007, 02:23:49 AM oh ok so how much of a difference was the sound with it off and on with ther 40 series?
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Matt on April 18, 2007, 03:54:57 AM mine has a resonator
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: mcgyvr on April 18, 2007, 07:44:48 PM Sounds like you've got exhaust leaks too.
With a decent resonator it should NOT sound like that Even with the stock muffler system and a flowmaster welded on it should not sound like that. Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Nykon on April 18, 2007, 08:53:58 PM Its possible you have exhaust leaks, and the exhaust shop might not have put a resonator back in, or a crappy one. I don't know...
That exhaust is about 6 or 7 years old. Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Alain95i4 on April 21, 2007, 12:46:41 AM try to beat that sound ;D
http://www.myspace.com/alain95i4 go to videos stock downpipe modified to be longer no cat instead it's a section of 2.5 inch " test pipe " ::) from the " test pipe " it goes to 3 inch and into a small resonator and from the resonator it goes to a glass pack name unknowned I bought and modified DaveW old system from way way back when there was no commercial catback for our cars Alain Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: DangerboyJr on April 21, 2007, 01:24:32 AM Nice Alain. I didnt know you had Daves old Exhaust. That sounded nice
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Ivan on April 22, 2007, 01:07:37 AM i want to hear it in action... rev it up!!!
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Alain95i4 on April 22, 2007, 02:12:27 AM i want to hear it in action... rev it up!!! I just added one from inside the car I didn't wanted to yesterday because the video is really too dark but since you asked I will try to a better one tommorow Alain Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: ChubbZ on April 22, 2007, 03:52:05 AM thats sounds pretty damn good ;) I'd like to upload a vid of my exhaust too but I dont have any recording devices >:( most people who ride with me or have driven my car think its sweet while others say it sounds like a dirt bike. there are times when it bothers me like when I'm accelerating slowly it'll rap for a few seconds(2200-2400) then go back to the drone, when it raps at the higher rpm and I can hear the engine roaring I like that, also when I downshift it rumbles and backfires a couple times
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: JusBringIt on April 22, 2007, 09:20:13 AM does not sound like a car at all! i would like to hear it rev :)
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Ivan on April 22, 2007, 03:02:24 PM and i noticed that every one puts the camera RIGHT in the damn exhaust pipes...
put the camera perpendicular and 2 feet away from the muffler. definitely will have different sound and rev ;) Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Shiano on April 22, 2007, 07:32:14 PM Bosal.
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Alain95i4 on April 24, 2007, 02:59:04 AM and i noticed that every one puts the camera RIGHT in the damn exhaust pipes... put the camera perpendicular and 2 feet away from the muffler. definitely will have different sound and rev ;) I don't know why the clip didn't show on myspace but I uploaded it a second time http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=2024668364 rev idle to 6k from inside the car in neutral Alain Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: JusBringIt on April 24, 2007, 03:08:27 AM i like the sound of the idle from inside- not trying to put u out of ur way or anything, but how about a few revs to about 3k? i like the monster i hear at low rpms
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Alain95i4 on April 24, 2007, 03:23:16 AM i like the sound of the idle from inside- not trying to put u out of ur way or anything, but how about a few revs to about 3k? i like the monster i hear at low rpms I'm back to my place and the car is my parent house 100 miles from here I'll be there again next weekend and I will do more clips :) so anyone else with a special request ? Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Alain95i4 on April 25, 2007, 04:47:02 AM errr i cant find the video... when i click on the link it goes to general videos on myspace :-\ I give up the clip was deleted AGAIN what's wrong with that ? it's only a rpm gauge it was deleted a first time already and I had to upload it again and now I just tried several time to upload it again tonight for a third time and all I got was the so common "an unexpected error bla bla bla " ... like an error could be expected to start with ;D I'll do a bunch of clips next weekend and try to put them somewhere else Alain Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Shiano on April 25, 2007, 11:08:15 AM have you tried photobucket? i know that myspace won't allow photobucket video but then again, we're not myspace. lol. good luck Alain.

Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Alain95i4 on April 26, 2007, 03:39:27 PM I love that his car looks stock and is dirty in the engine bay. ;D the secret for a perpetual dirty engine bay 1 do a experimental engine swap 2 have a mysterious oil leak on the engine which you can't find the source after searching for months 3 have no time to clean because you have plenty to do mechanically because of the swap like splitting a flexplate in half in january by a temperature of minus 25 and dropping the transmission in a garage with a cement floor heated just a few degres above the freezing point 4 put the car under a tarp and let it sit under 3 to 6 feet of snow for 5 months when I opened the hood last week I was horrified almost every aluminium part was covered with the typical thick dust that aluminium makes when it rust and the battery poles were covered with 1 inch thick of dried acid crust and I had no time to clean either because I had a transmission to fix which I did and which include spilling tranny fuild everywhere my philosophy tirgh now is : Show me clean engine bay and I will show you a car owner who don't do much heavy mechanics :( saturday I have more stuff to do including an engine and battery wash if I have time I have to change the 2 battery connector also Alain Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Nykon on April 26, 2007, 05:20:38 PM I wasn't dogging on it, I think its great, now I don't feel bad if mine is dirty.
Its not, because I have no time or money right now for heavy mechanical work. ;D Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Matt on April 27, 2007, 02:10:17 AM so.. uncle.. how much was ur bosal again?
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Nykon on April 27, 2007, 05:24:06 AM about $300
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Matt on April 27, 2007, 02:19:05 PM the exhaust on my audi only cost $70.. kinda looks like it too :'( but sounds like it has some serious power too
Title: Re: Exhaust Sounds Post by: Aaron on April 27, 2007, 03:59:24 PM haha like i have said before Alain, go is much btter than show so keep it dirty if it means that you are gonna have a good running car!!!!, you can always wash it later when you are done with the work!!!!
