anyway since im on the subject of stereo's i was wondering does it hurt anything if i go overkill with amp wiring kit's?? like say my stereo is like a 300-400watt system or more, and i have a 1000watt amp wiring kit will it do any damage or anything ?? thanks Rob Title: Re: cd player install Post by: Bad Venge on April 12, 2007, 12:26:37 AM Only trouble you might have is getting the larger gauge wire into the amp but some wire trimming will get it in there
Title: Re: cd player install Post by: Rob Brown on April 12, 2007, 12:48:38 AM well they do have those distrubition blocks which bring it from a 4 gauge to a 8 gauge or whatever.. you know what i mean...
Title: Re: cd player install Post by: Bad Venge on April 12, 2007, 01:10:13 AM single amp don't need distrobution block ... like I said you can just cut the wire down
Title: Re: cd player install Post by: Rob Brown on April 12, 2007, 02:08:49 AM ya can do that too, i dunno we will have to see how it goes once i go to do the install :)
Title: Re: cd player install Post by: Gr8witeLxi on April 12, 2007, 07:24:38 PM When I took my Factory deck out I took the cage (metal brace) as well. Was about 6-8 screws.
your running 4ga Wire? I am also running 4ga and I am constantly switching systems from 400w all the way up to 1500w and have no problems. Title: Re: cd player install Post by: Rob Brown on April 12, 2007, 08:09:52 PM ya i just found a 4gauge kit for 80 bucks.... so prolly pick that up and install it this weekend :)
Title: Re: cd player install Post by: Shiano on April 25, 2007, 02:46:52 PM i'm probably gonna get bashed for this but,
to clear up any confusion or possible future questioning: Can you take 3 8g wires and run them together in place of a 4g? \ l / l l l l l l l l l \l / lll lll lll kinda like that. I split it at the top for understanding reasons. Title: Re: cd player install Post by: DangerboyJr on April 25, 2007, 03:01:44 PM Do you need the metal cage to mount the deck?
Ill also be running a 4g wire and a dist block for my two amps when I get them Title: Re: cd player install Post by: The Reincarnation on April 25, 2007, 03:04:16 PM when i got my system installed i had to buy the new brace trim for just around the cd player and a new harness kit and on top of that i had to re wire the srock harness cause d-a who had the car before me tried to hardwire the stock radio!
Title: Re: cd player install Post by: Rob Brown on April 25, 2007, 08:43:43 PM naw mine went in lickity split :) sounds good too !!
Title: Re: cd player install Post by: The Reincarnation on April 26, 2007, 01:58:27 PM cool you should put up a sound clip
Title: Re: cd player install Post by: Rob Brown on April 26, 2007, 08:21:51 PM i dont think a sound clip would give the sound system any kinda justice.....
Title: Re: cd player install Post by: The Reincarnation on April 28, 2007, 05:23:25 PM yeah now that i think of it
