Title: Help! my tranny creeks when i put it into drive a604
Post by: JamesBondo on April 09, 2007, 08:57:15 PM
Lol. whenever i shift my car into drive or reverse it sounds like someone stepped on a loose floorboard! is that bad?

i checked the tranny fluid too. And another thing... i can shift from drive to reverse without pressing the button on the top of the shifter.  ???

I don't know if this a car or mini van. On dodge cans and mini vans 2.0-2.2-3.0-3.3-and 3.8 engine lube the exhaust donut, bcause they get rust on them. Use anti-size. Or the axle nuts are loose.

if it's a short, like ~2sec ratcheting/creaking sound it could be the solenoid pack, the new ones are very quiet.

all normal.
The ratcheting sound is the solenoid pack switching.
Its normal, If it bugs you the new resesigned one is much quiter (as said above)
and yes you can switch gears without pressing the button.
