There are a few of us in Kitchener.  Dave (admin) and I are here, Rob95V6 is in kitchener and Mike (Hightest) is here as well.  Dangerboy Jr is Paris way and we have meets here at our house in Kitchener and people from the GTA and Quebec will show up.  Haven't gone much lately as the last couple of houses we've had don't have the space, but we're moving late summer/early fall to a much bigger place so I'm sure we'll try to do some more then.  Thats all I can think of off the top of my head, but there are others in the area.

well if needed i have LOTS of room for like parking and a HUGE backyard for tents if needed or even for parking if there isn't enough in the driveway, we could host something here if someone wanted, i would just need notice lol.... everyone could bring a little bit of food as well and we could fire up the BBQ!!

That would be pretty cool. Im in for a summer gettogether

Title: Re: Ontarioian's were you at ??
Post by: Rob Brown on April 07, 2007, 01:21:12 PM
ya i think it would be cool too, it just a suggestion tho, but if anyone is actually intrested i can ask my parents if it ok to hoist something here later in the summer like when it get's nice and warm out, plus we even have a pool :P so girls bring some bathing suits hahahaha......

im sure my parents wouldnt mind at all, and well neighbours dont give a crap about anything around here, everyone knows each other and what not so it's all cool :)

I'm sure people would be cool with that.  We're all pretty laid back most of the time as a lot of us are in our late 20's early 30's (some a bit more some a bit less) and a bunch of us have kids of our own (see Dangerboy jr ;))  We don't get the new house til like Aug/Sept so we won't be doing much until then I bet.  Just set up a time and date and see what people say.  I can get in touch with some of the guys that don't tend to post much.

Scary

Title: Re: Ontarioian's were you at ??
Post by: Rob Brown on April 10, 2007, 09:55:25 PM
SCARY!!!!!!! :o........... what would be sooo scary about it ???

also another point would be that my parents are putting the house up for sale, so depending if i still live here at the time or not is another good notice for people, but i still have to talk to them and see what they say hahahaha im sure they wont have a problem with it

Dave and I understand the moving thing.. we move about once a year and get a new house.  If they are not wanting to let you there we can always set up something here.  There is parking on our street.    If not our new house should be built late Aug or so and there will be tons of parking then.

This thread's been dead for a while but I'll bite.  I'm in Kitchener and the original owner of a 1995 Dodge Avenger 2.0L DOHC (couldn't live without stick and have never regretted it).  It was off the road for a year while I drove an inherited Buick (gah!) but I came to my senses and am now poring money into the Avenger to get it back into shape.  This is it just back from the body shop:

Oooh.. Close to The Admins and I

Yep.  I have a friend with a Magnum who goes to all sorts of get togethers with other local Magnum owners.  I say we crash 'em!  Almost went to Cayuga in the Avenger last Friday with him to see a newly nitrous'd Magnum do it's first runs...  Since that's a public place it would have made a great little tag-along.  Want me to start keeping my ear to the ground for similar opportunities?  (I haven't got a house to offer.)

We now have a large house (and garage) so anytime anyone wants a meet it's all good to go.

Kevin- car looks nice and clean.. very nice.

Thanks!  I've loved it from day one so I'm not doing anything to customize the looks, keeping it very OEM.  In fact I'm annoyed that the body shop got rid of the 16V DOHC lettering from the driver's side rear quarter, it probably came off with the old steel and wasn't transferred onto the new.  I should have clarified that with them up front, live and learn.  Before it went in I was trying hard to find the pentagram jewel for the passenger's front quarter, now that that lettering's gone from the driver's side the missing jewel seems moot.

As far as fully restoring it, I'm still tweaking at it.  Just ordered some parts for the power locks from K-W Mitsubishi this morning (after my bad luck looking up a high beam relay at Waterloo Dodge I figured I'd go straight to the source) and still need some bulbs for the dash.  Apparently the bulb that back lights the power mirror control can't be ordered without a whole new control, I'm going to try and convert it to an LED; just hoping the colour's a close enough match because the old bulb was actually dipped yellow.

Also, does anyone recall if the snowflake on the air conditioning button was backlit?  Mine isn't now, and I'm wondering if I should try and take it apart and put an LED under it as well or if it just came unlit.  Sigh, you don't drive a car for a year and suddenly you forget what it's supposed to be like...

Title: Re: Ontarioian's were you at ??
Post by: True Horsepower on May 27, 2008, 03:51:58 AM
Yeah, the guys at KW Mitsubishi are always pretty good and they will almost always have a cheaper price than the dodge dealer.

I asked Dave and he seems to remember the snowflake lighting up as well.  He doesn't remember tho if it has two lights or just one.  I seem to recall that the 95 had two settings and my old 96 had one... so press it once for like economy and a 2nd time for extra or something like that?  I could have it backwards and only like 96 and up did.. can't recall and our 95 doesn't have the AC hooked up anymore and has been parked for 2 years.  We only drive the 01 now.  We have a few parts left over from a parts car, but nothing from what you are asking for I'm pretty sure.

can anyone recommend a good body shop? i got a lot of body work to be done (repair, body kit, spoiler, hood)  thanks

Title: Re: Ontarioian's were you at ??

Every time we needed a body shop we used where a member was working.  Bryan worked out of Hamilton, but he doesn't paint cars anymore and is an adjuster now.  Dangerboy uses a guy out of Brantford and has been happy with him.  I'll try and remember to ask Rob who he used for his body kit in Kitchener.  He had his car painted orange (he sold it a few years ago).  You might have seen it around Stratford?  We saw it a few weeks ago when I was at the hospital there.

I'm extremely happy with the work that was done on my car recently by Portugal Autobody in Breslau.  They came highly recommended by my mechanic and didn't disappoint.  All repairs to rusted out sections (strut towers, runners, door sills, door edges) were done with new steel welded in, not bondo or fiberglass...

Yep, the AC has two settings. First press is economy and gets a yellow light, second press is max and gets a green light.  Those lights still work, it was the snowflake graphic itself that I can't recall if its supposed to backlight in orange (like the rest of the dash) when the running lights come on.  I'm just going to take it apart one of these weekends and see if there's a bulb behind it or not.  (Or if I'm really clever, check the wiring diagrams to see if there's terminals for it in the switch connector.)

If your going to Portugal. Check out Fearless Customs just up the street. They both do good work and they are competition. So they will meet and beat portugal

Im new here, Just picked up my avenger recently and love it.

From Windsor, Ontario...

Ive always liked these car's, and i found a good deal on a low mileage one that i liked so i baught it.

Looking forward to  learning more about these cars and meeting some fellow owners. It took a while for me to find the forum, im also looking forward to finding some non rice aftermarket stuff, so if anyone can tell me some places who sell stuff for these cars that would be great.

-Ryan

Hey Ryan. Welcome to the Forums. Im a regular, but dont own a Venge anymore. Live in Paris. About 2 - 3 hours away from you.

If you wanna find some non rice stuff.. check out
www.disturbingmotorsports.com (http://www.disturbingmotorsports.com). Its a newer company that opened up last year. Its run by some friends of this community. And people that have done most everything to an avenger/sebring.

Hey Ryan.. welcome!  We used to live in Windsor a few years ago.  We have meets every once in a while.  They mostly happen here in the Kitchener/Waterloo area.  You are welcome to come out to one.. just keep an eye on the forums... When Chris was over last night he wanted to do another meet soon.  We have a spare bedroom and a couch in the basement for out of towners if they want to spend the night.
