hey guys i was wondering what kinda muffler's you's are putting on ur avenger's ?

i have a 95 avenger base coupe, auto 4cylinder, and i want the most rumble that i can get outta it, i LOOOOVE the rumble exhuast, epeically if it's LOUD!!! 

im a V8 fan hehehehe.... anyone with any sound clips or anything of their setup's would be awesome...

i've been looking into a "CherryBomb" mufflers

too bad they dont have sound clips for cars, they only got v8 trucks :(

eh, all they are is a glass pack.  I doubt it would sound good.

flomaster 40 series is what i had on my car.  I loved the low rumble that it made, but i had the v6.  I think people have put them on 4 cyl, but i'm not sure.

i have a v6 but i put some kind of universal muffler on that my friend had laying in his garage, but my car sounded amazing with no muffler at all so...

you take off your stock muffler, cut the extra pipe from your stock muffler, put the stock muffler back up on the hangers, then run a piece of pipe that lets the air go strait to the ground, its gives you that stock look with a sound that just cannot be stock, its still illegal but its just an idea

thats what im gonna do if my muffler falls off, cause its not for our cars but i put it on anyway, but theres my 2 cents

 ::) that reminds me of crappy cars that owners dont take care off and drive around with exhaust which has rusted out pipes....

I had the Flowmaster 40 series on mine.  96 2.0 5spd and it sounded good.
I am about to put Bosal Performance on my Eclipse, I will try to get a clip of the sound for you.

#1 its a 4cly 2.0L motor, it will never sound like a v8

Bosal catback (with a min 18" resonator) added inline after the cat IMO is the best sound. (My wife always says she can hear the rumble from a mile away when I come home from work)
Magnaflows also sounds decent.
Stay away from cheap ebay mufflers.
IMO flowmaster sucks too. Mine rusted out in about a year and just fell off.

obviously i4 will never have v8 sound

if u could post a sound clip or a video clip of your car and exhaust that would be great

cause its all blah blah, but no actual evidence on the sounds

each individual got their own preference and 2cents on how exhaust "should" sound like

im a big fan of the flowmaster's i was thinking about the 40 series that was mentioned earlier up in a post..... but the thing is mine muffler on my car is like brand new now rust or anything on it really lol

Magnaflow - low and smooth

Flowmaster 40 - loud and rough

Cherry bomb glass pack - loud and raspy..... Turbo muffler - smoother version of glass pack.
 

i did have dual glass packs  on my 88 grand prix, yes i made custom duals on it!!! ;D it had a FI 2.8L auto and it sounded pretty cool!! man i loved that car too lol......all though it got really loud and was like raspy the louder it got but at idle man it sounded as close to a V8 u can get lol....but i really want something that's loud and rumbly

3.1?? or 3.8?? in the grand prix...

This is a 3.1 in my old car.. sounds real good down low.. almost like a V8..

 I also was going to agree that bosal is your best bet for the Venge.

as soon as Nykon Pm's me a price on a resonator [18"], he will have a sale. As soon as he has a sale, i will have a shipment heading to me. As soon as said shipment gets to me, it will be put on. After that comes a sound clip for a very patient Ivan.  ;)

hey Nykon, what did you use to record that? and what bit rate is it playing at?

I used my Digital Camera and did it as an AVI, then I extracted the audio and put it in GoldWave and converted it from WAV to MP3

I also used a filter to get the crackling and fuss noise out of it.

haha i clicked the 1st link that u posted Nykon under "stock exhaust" and actually heard the Bosal set up... so i am sitting here and going "damn he got nice stock exhaust system..."

then scrolled all the way down and clicked the 2nd link and heard same sound... hahaha

good job man, thank you for posting the sound (you should put more sounds on your web page from different people with diff. exhaust mods)

actually this morning it sounded pretty close to the stock sound, but I have driven about 300 miles (across the state to see my brother) and it sounds much better now, a bit louder too.

and i am sure u were blowing some black smoke too  :D

Nykon, can you rip sound from a 3g2 (cell phone) video format? And if so, would you be willing as long as it was a relevant audio track?

just my 2¢ i think it sounds a bit ricey form the audio track but maybe it just u gotta hear it in front of you tho, who knows, i like the flowmaster's myself.. but i dunno we will have to see too.... plus my muffler has no rust and is in like brand new shape... LOL   what to do... what to do!!!

I think it sounded nothing like rice.  It was sounded pretty good, but I still would also like to have another.  There is a pretty good exhaust shop in town here, I think I may have them custom fab me a dual exhaust with magnaflow mufflers and 24" resonators. 

ya i was also thinkin of running some dual's like i had on my Grand Prix.. but dunno what kinda muffler i wanna run yet...but yes i would like to hear some flowmaster's and dynomax, maybe even a magnaflow muffler... anyone got those setup's?

GP had a Camaro setup? That's what my Beretta had in that clip. ^^  ..  Cheapest way to go actually. ;)

And.. hey!! I'll gladly be an Audio Bitch if someone ships me some exhaust for testing..  ;D.. but I guess that still wouldn't help out you 4 bangin' guys. lol

no i had the regualar exhuast then were it bent over the rear wish-bone suspesion we cut in to it and made dual exhuast from there i ran two cherry bomb's with two chrome tips looked sweet :)

all sound records are always sound different from what they actually are.  they are close, but still lacking the true quality sound that u hear with jo ears mate :)

yeah i was gonna post my V6 w/ a flowmaster....but recorded on a phone..it sounded like i had a hot '92 civic :D

My dual 3.1 setup I posted earlier actually sounds identical to what it sounds like in real life.

anyway the sounds of a car has a LOT to do with the soundwaves. I could probably design something that'll make a four cylinder sound like a V8...i dont think its impossible.
