Title: rumbly muffler? Post by: Rob Brown on April 03, 2007, 11:33:52 PM hey guys i was wondering what kinda muffler's you's are putting on ur avenger's ?
i have a 95 avenger base coupe, auto 4cylinder, and i want the most rumble that i can get outta it, i LOOOOVE the rumble exhuast, epeically if it's LOUD!!! im a V8 fan hehehehe.... anyone with any sound clips or anything of their setup's would be awesome... Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Nykon on April 04, 2007, 03:01:26 AM Bosal or Flowmaster
Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Ivan on April 04, 2007, 03:55:39 AM i've been looking into a "CherryBomb" mufflers
too bad they dont have sound clips for cars, they only got v8 trucks :( Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Nykon on April 04, 2007, 04:47:07 AM eh, all they are is a glass pack. I doubt it would sound good.
Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: sweetbring on April 04, 2007, 06:15:29 AM flomaster 40 series is what i had on my car. I loved the low rumble that it made, but i had the v6. I think people have put them on 4 cyl, but i'm not sure.
Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Antony on April 04, 2007, 01:31:01 PM i have a v6 but i put some kind of universal muffler on that my friend had laying in his garage, but my car sounded amazing with no muffler at all so...
you take off your stock muffler, cut the extra pipe from your stock muffler, put the stock muffler back up on the hangers, then run a piece of pipe that lets the air go strait to the ground, its gives you that stock look with a sound that just cannot be stock, its still illegal but its just an idea thats what im gonna do if my muffler falls off, cause its not for our cars but i put it on anyway, but theres my 2 cents Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Ivan on April 04, 2007, 02:29:28 PM ::) that reminds me of crappy cars that owners dont take care off and drive around with exhaust which has rusted out pipes....
sorry antony.... NEXT! haha Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Ivan on April 04, 2007, 02:36:05 PM eh, all they are is a glass pack. I doubt it would sound good. well they have other mufflers which look kinda like Flowmaster, like "Pro" for example http://www.cherrybomb.com/pro-mufflers.html Hey, Flowmaster got a new muffler ;D http://flowmastermufflers.com/44_super.html and just one more thing... Hushpower II has been on my mind of LOOONG time since my buddy was talking about putting it on his Jeep before he sold it... whatcha think? Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Nykon on April 04, 2007, 02:42:15 PM I had the Flowmaster 40 series on mine. 96 2.0 5spd and it sounded good.
I am about to put Bosal Performance on my Eclipse, I will try to get a clip of the sound for you. Is it wrong that I got that NEXT comment? ::) Its such a stupid show but so aluring :-\ Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: The Reincarnation on April 04, 2007, 02:43:15 PM try this muffler
http://flowmastermufflers.com/60_series.html Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Ivan on April 04, 2007, 02:48:35 PM try this muffler http://flowmastermufflers.com/60_series.html i heard they are not so good... and Nykon, if you could post a sound clip that would be great! Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: mcgyvr on April 04, 2007, 04:14:12 PM #1 its a 4cly 2.0L motor, it will never sound like a v8
Bosal catback (with a min 18" resonator) added inline after the cat IMO is the best sound. (My wife always says she can hear the rumble from a mile away when I come home from work) Magnaflows also sounds decent. Stay away from cheap ebay mufflers. IMO flowmaster sucks too. Mine rusted out in about a year and just fell off. Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Ivan on April 04, 2007, 04:49:20 PM obviously i4 will never have v8 sound
if u could post a sound clip or a video clip of your car and exhaust that would be great cause its all blah blah, but no actual evidence on the sounds each individual got their own preference and 2cents on how exhaust "should" sound like Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Rob Brown on April 04, 2007, 08:04:02 PM im a big fan of the flowmaster's i was thinking about the 40 series that was mentioned earlier up in a post..... but the thing is mine muffler on my car is like brand new now rust or anything on it really lol
Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Gr8witeLxi on April 04, 2007, 08:19:05 PM Magnaflow - low and smooth
Flowmaster 40 - loud and rough Cherry bomb glass pack - loud and raspy..... Turbo muffler - smoother version of glass pack. Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Rob Brown on April 04, 2007, 08:58:46 PM i did have dual glass packs on my 88 grand prix, yes i made custom duals on it!!! ;D it had a FI 2.8L auto and it sounded pretty cool!! man i loved that car too lol......all though it got really loud and was like raspy the louder it got but at idle man it sounded as close to a V8 u can get lol....but i really want something that's loud and rumbly
Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Gr8witeLxi on April 04, 2007, 10:52:18 PM 3.1?? or 3.8?? in the grand prix...
This is a 3.1 in my old car.. sounds real good down low.. almost like a V8.. http://s42.photobucket.com/albums/e321/gr8witegtz/?action=view¤t=BerettaExhaust-1.flv I also was going to agree that bosal is your best bet for the Venge. Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Ivan on April 05, 2007, 12:23:39 AM 3.1?? or 3.8?? in the grand prix... Post by: Nykon on April 05, 2007, 04:20:09 AM Here is my stock exhaust
http://www.nykontec.com/index.php?option=com_mp3player&Itemid=44 I will have Bosal up tomorrow. ;D Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Shiano on April 05, 2007, 05:01:55 AM as soon as Nykon Pm's me a price on a resonator [18"], he will have a sale. As soon as he has a sale, i will have a shipment heading to me. As soon as said shipment gets to me, it will be put on. After that comes a sound clip for a very patient Ivan. ;)
hey Nykon, what did you use to record that? and what bit rate is it playing at? Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Nykon on April 05, 2007, 05:17:00 AM I used my Digital Camera and did it as an AVI, then I extracted the audio and put it in GoldWave and converted it from WAV to MP3
it is at... ummm 128 kbps Why? I also used a filter to get the crackling and fuss noise out of it. Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Shiano on April 05, 2007, 05:23:43 AM i hate being poor. limited toys. :'( :'( :'( :'(
Good job though!! ;D Title: Re: rumbly muffler? http://www.nykontec.com/index.php?option=com_mp3player&Itemid=44 shows you guys how much I like ya. I am off to shower and get food now. Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Ivan on April 06, 2007, 07:16:50 PM haha i clicked the 1st link that u posted Nykon under "stock exhaust" and actually heard the Bosal set up... so i am sitting here and going "damn he got nice stock exhaust system..."
then scrolled all the way down and clicked the 2nd link and heard same sound... hahaha good job man, thank you for posting the sound (you should put more sounds on your web page from different people with diff. exhaust mods) Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Nykon on April 07, 2007, 03:35:42 AM actually this morning it sounded pretty close to the stock sound, but I have driven about 300 miles (across the state to see my brother) and it sounds much better now, a bit louder too.
Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Ivan on April 07, 2007, 08:29:16 AM and i am sure u were blowing some black smoke too :D
its a new muffler with clean pipes, thats why you got the cat back right? Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Shiano on April 07, 2007, 08:48:24 AM This is in case anyone needs to know.
Nykon, can you rip sound from a 3g2 (cell phone) video format? And if so, would you be willing as long as it was a relevant audio track? Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Rob Brown on April 07, 2007, 01:14:59 PM just my 2¢ i think it sounds a bit ricey form the audio track but maybe it just u gotta hear it in front of you tho, who knows, i like the flowmaster's myself.. but i dunno we will have to see too.... plus my muffler has no rust and is in like brand new shape... LOL what to do... what to do!!!
Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Nykon on April 07, 2007, 04:14:51 PM Ricey!!! Why I aughta!
I will record a new sound clip when I get home today, after another 300 miles. Shiano, I can rip sound from anything. ;D Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Rob Brown on April 07, 2007, 05:23:56 PM ya record another, maybe it will sound even more ricey since it broke in HAHAHAHAHA just kidding with ya buddy!! but let's hear another with GOOD quailty tho this time, maybe it sounds better maybe worse :P
Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Ivan on April 07, 2007, 06:24:24 PM if u could, get from inside, and maybe a "drive-by" ;)
Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Nykon on April 07, 2007, 06:53:23 PM oh sheesh, I will see what I can do. Nice to know I am everyones audio bitch now. ;D
Didn't Ivan promise some sounds too?? Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Enemytoast on April 07, 2007, 07:35:27 PM I think it sounded nothing like rice. It was sounded pretty good, but I still would also like to have another. There is a pretty good exhaust shop in town here, I think I may have them custom fab me a dual exhaust with magnaflow mufflers and 24" resonators.
Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Rob Brown on April 07, 2007, 09:10:42 PM ya i was also thinkin of running some dual's like i had on my Grand Prix.. but dunno what kinda muffler i wanna run yet...but yes i would like to hear some flowmaster's and dynomax, maybe even a magnaflow muffler... anyone got those setup's?

I'll gladly be an Audio Bitch if someone ships me some exhaust for testing.. ;D.. but I guess that still wouldn't help out you 4 bangin' guys. lol Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: JusBringIt on April 09, 2007, 09:26:07 PM gr8...this IS reality. but then again, it could be the phones.
Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Ivan on April 10, 2007, 12:25:36 AM true
Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: JusBringIt on April 10, 2007, 11:00:20 PM whore...
anyway the sounds of a car has a LOT to do with the soundwaves. I could probably design something that'll make a four cylinder sound like a V8...i dont think its impossible. Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: Nykon on April 10, 2007, 11:58:46 PM www.bosalperformance.com
Title: Re: rumbly muffler? Post by: The Reincarnation on April 11, 2007, 01:29:56 AM try an hks hiper muffler or dragger muffler
