hmm i see... their crap... thing is, i dont wanna loud muffler, i just wanna sound good when im reving high. I dunno if u heard a g35 rev but im in love with that sound. it doesnt give you that aggressive rumble just a light deep sound.

i know what your talking about i work with a couple people who have g35s and they do sound nice, i wish i could tell u where to get that sound but i really dont know, but unless u want to make your car a rice bucket with that exhaust i suggest u keep looking

LOL i dont know, im sorry im a ricer, mainly because i dont wanna get beat by a civic or something cuz i know they r fast and i just cant afford to do preformence upgrades. also i live in canada, u think its hard to get veng parts in the US its really hard to find ne here.

but ya even stuff like flowmaster n stuff is way to loud.

1st of all.. civics aren't fast.. you shouldn't have a problm if the Venge is running right.

2nd of all.. G35's aren't a good example of what to aspire to for the sound of your exhaust, they have an amazing one of a kind engine. ::)  ... compared to the Venge's 4 cyl.

And 3rdly... Magnaflow ;)... great for exactly what you want... nice low sound. You have to get a full catback system though. It might not sound good with the factory cat.. (different flow, potentialy rotten, etc...)

any one notice how the price took a 30% drop...from the last time i've seen it that is. the first time it was a good $150. there's a lotta new stuff out there..some might work..some might not....check the seller...see if there's a refund n have a backup muffler for when u decide to take it off. my guess is it sounds like those civics...cept u can say "o yeah!?? well i got  a twin loop!". its cheap....so for "experimental purposes" i dont know..y dont u check his feedback from ppl who've bought that muffler.

isnt bosal just kinda like a knock off of borla?

Title: Re: loop muffler, ne good?
Post by: greg on March 23, 2007, 12:49:25 PM
no, borla is SUPER loud. bosal is mellow deep.

I've been looking into ERT's predator catback.

But, if that doesn't pan out, I'll look to Bosal.

Are you full from lunch yet? I have a Honda 4 cylinder that your V6 might not be able to stomach  ;D (No offense meant here, just picking on you).

you maybe can take me on the 1/4 mile, but dont get me on the roll

Unless you are boosted, I definately can beat you off the line as well as the 1/4 mile. I took out a V6 Avenger with intake and catback with no trouble last year (and that was before I got good launching).

As for this loop muffler, how does it do any good? It seems like it would cause flow restriction.

Title: Re: loop muffler, ne good?

i mean like from a 20 roll

Title: Re: loop muffler, ne good?
Post by: TSXtraitorboy on March 30, 2007, 02:21:48 AM
200 hp @ 6800 rpm
166 ft-lb @ 4500 rpm

Still stock, but I will consider mods when the warranty expires.

Title: Re: loop muffler, ne good?
Post by: Antony on March 30, 2007, 02:35:25 AM
200hp... either you have an si or a swap cause regular civics dont stock push put 200hp

Your talking about your TSX, not a civic right? lol

here's my analysis, torque is very underrated, this is what gets u up to speed. if u have a lot of torque on tap, good tires, u can usually beat someone with more hp depending on the type of race and whether u have manual or matic. if the v6 was manual and it was circuit racing (stock torque of 172 ft-lb @4500 rpm, with a lil bit of mods...u would have a LOT of trouble TSX. off the line..straight drag. u win hands down.

 :D

Yeah I am talking about my TSX. It's engine is made by Honda, so that's why I was saying that I have a Honda that the Venge wouldn't eat for lunch  ;D.

Oh ok... because I don't think any factory civic would have a chance against an Avenger/Sebring... But the TSX I'm sure would come out on top... sorry Antony. :-\

OOOOOO.... ok im so sorry... i didnt realize that you only said you had a 4 cylinder honda... i missunderstood you, i thought u said that you had a civic... thats a my bad i must have skimmed over and misread you post TSX, thats a my bad.

I thought i was arguing that my car was faster than your civic, thats a my bad again

If i had known that i was arguing that my avenger was faster than your TSX i never would have even started this arguement. I thought you said u had a civic, i stand by my words that my car is faster than most civics, but not your TSX......

my bad :-\  ;D

Full exhaust (headers, Downpipe, highflow cat back) and intake might put the Avenger on top though.  ;D

From what I remember.. you have a 2.5L right Antony?

Title: Re: loop muffler, ne good?
Post by: Antony on April 03, 2007, 05:51:59 PM

how come?

The whole "starting beef with the 4 bangers" comment. lol

but i guess this is in 4 cyl tech...

Only reason I could think of is that you would never see a looped muffler ever being worthy enough to show up in 6 cyl tech.  ::) :P

haha.. now thats beef.. :P

Title: Re: loop muffler, ne good?
Post by: JusBringIt on April 09, 2007, 12:50:44 PM
yeah, the ugly brother, soon to be disowned, discarded, treated like scavengers and diagnosed with the inability to keep up with the 1st gen. 8)...well maybe not the sxt...yet!

mmm rice.... not bad for a sh!t looped muffler though. you could get the same thing out of a 35$ cherry bomb turbo.

Title: Re: loop muffler, ne good?
Post by: Rob on August 28, 2007, 01:20:55 PM
Rice. Although some of the tinniness was prolly the camera, most don't record accurate sound that close.

I say if you want a good sound and more power, just chop the muffler off and replace it w/ a chrome tip or something. The cat and the factory resonator will keep it muffled pretty well.

And you'll never get the 2.0 to sound like a G35, unless maybe you figure out how to add 2 more cyl's to it :)

Title: Re: loop muffler, ne good?
Post by: JusBringIt on August 28, 2007, 04:00:15 PM
or using resonance theory.. was gonna do that to my exhaust system..but didnt have enough room..

Title: Re: loop muffler, ne good?
Post by: Shiano on September 01, 2007, 12:07:00 PM
If you cut the muffler off you will reduce the backpressure that the system is designed to have. With a reduce in backpressure you have a reduce in torque. 800 horsepower will only get you a 'Driving too slow for traffic' ticket if you have no torque.
