Really??  That was one of the things I loved about my Venge.  I do think they should have made them body color except for the lense on most Venges, but other than that they are great.

IMHO Euro style tails suck!  I love the OEM tails for my Eclipse too.  I am going to paint the center thingy (it don't light up, why is it red reflectory ??)

Those are nice Bring lights too, don't care so much for the OEM tails on the Brings.

stock venge tail lights are nice IMO. i don't konw what they were thinking with the sebring lights..but i have bought another set of sebring lights and i'll see what happens with them. i'm still looking for decent lenses.

as far as the venge center light, there is/was an oe requirement for the light reflectance off the rear. same reason the stock sebring tails have a reflective square in the middle of the tail light section. looks like crap, but big brother says it has to be there.

yeah, hate the lil square...i kinda grew to the stock bring tails. LOVE the ones on the venge. I did work on mine so i like em keep up the good work. ;)

they do look good tho.  now i gotta look and wait for somethin else to come along caust i too hate the stock bring tails. i once saw some tail lights on here that somebody made and was selling multiple pairs that looked exactly like skyline tails.  does anybody happen to know who that is/was?

they are out of an 02 monte carlo. i may make more, but it's gonna depend on how well these go..and how they look.

I had the same idea cause my ex girlfriends parents have a Monte Carlo & thought they would look pretty sweet sideways.  I was gonna give it a try but I didn't know how to mold the surround to our original shape.   

you would actually make a filler plate that the monte lights fit in that is the shape of our original tails.  its a good idea and i was going to get REAL skyline tails and put them in my car, that was till i found out how much they were then it just wasnt a good idea anymore

The Skyline's. pffft. this is the south. we can MAKE it fit. if they can cram a built 350 into a Metropolitan, then we can do this simple task.

no. painted dont look good unless you're talking about the black area matching your paint. then it's a m.o.o. (lol). Personally, I don't like it for my car.

Nice tails dave.. they sure beat the factory tails, I like them. I also want some kind of aftermarket tailights also.

Downer I'll give you a shout. See what your working on. It'll be interesting to see the turnout on those Monte Carlo tails.

im using the writeup on ehem asec ahem (sorry had to say it) but modifying a little bit to use maximum space so the tails look like real r34 tail

can be done. remove the lenses and insert into stock housing. it's really not too difficult, just takes time. alot of tedious work.
my monte lights are going to be a challenge. first thing is i didn't realize the larger light is a 6" lense. there really isn't room in the housing for it. it can be done, but i'm not sure how bad it's gonna look. second, i got no wiring harness with it but i did get the halogen bulbs shipped with it..so i guess i'll have to scrounge around for a harness or find something else to use.
anyways, 'skyline tails' is a pretty generic term now. i wouldn't get too upset about r32-r34 variations. especially when you mention dodge/chrysler in the same sentence.  ;)

yeah, thats what i thought too.  I really like the blinker on the bottom of the light.  What did you use to make the mold around the lights?  Thats what I cant figure out how to do.  i had a few ideas to try myself but dont know if i have the resources to do it.

i used thin wall pvc pipe for the insets and fiberglassed them to the inside face of the stock taillight.

send them to me and ill send u pics in a week and show you how they look in my car! ;D

Thats coming along nicely even though, Downer. What are you going to do for the border [the negative space there] colorwise? Black? Red?

once i make a cover i'll probably paint it polo green. just leave each lense red and cover the center red portion.
it's taken me so far to get to this point, i just haven't worked on them very often. at the rate i'm going now another set isn't likely.

You can still do a write up with pictures [if you took any] that way the info isn't lost. I'm sure other headlight combos will look good.
