Opinions? Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: sweetbring on January 05, 2007, 08:29:29 AM I want some
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: DangerboyJr on January 05, 2007, 04:11:05 PM Can he paint em in forest Green
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Nykon on January 05, 2007, 08:26:45 PM Won't work for an Avenger DBJ, sorry
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: DangerboyJr on January 06, 2007, 04:41:09 AM Awe.. sad panda.
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: 79_99_bro on January 08, 2007, 01:13:03 AM like them.........looking good
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Shiano on January 09, 2007, 10:08:57 AM i'd like after market for the Venge.......... :'(
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: DangerboyJr on January 09, 2007, 07:07:56 PM Yes I would too. i dont really care for the venge tail lights
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Nykon on January 10, 2007, 02:28:17 AM Really?? That was one of the things I loved about my Venge. I do think they should have made them body color except for the lense on most Venges, but other than that they are great.
IMHO Euro style tails suck! I love the OEM tails for my Eclipse too. I am going to paint the center thingy (it don't light up, why is it red reflectory ??) Those are nice Bring lights too, don't care so much for the OEM tails on the Brings. Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: downer on January 10, 2007, 05:04:09 AM stock venge tail lights are nice IMO. i don't konw what they were thinking with the sebring lights..but i have bought another set of sebring lights and i'll see what happens with them. i'm still looking for decent lenses.
as far as the venge center light, there is/was an oe requirement for the light reflectance off the rear. same reason the stock sebring tails have a reflective square in the middle of the tail light section. looks like crap, but big brother says it has to be there. Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: JusBringIt on January 10, 2007, 07:50:55 AM yeah, hate the lil square...i kinda grew to the stock bring tails. LOVE the ones on the venge. I did work on mine so i like em keep up the good work. ;)
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: ken on January 11, 2007, 07:41:44 AM i was gonna buy theese but i got slammed with a fine from a ticket i had and couldnt get the money in time!! >:(
they do look good tho. now i gotta look and wait for somethin else to come along caust i too hate the stock bring tails. i once saw some tail lights on here that somebody made and was selling multiple pairs that looked exactly like skyline tails. does anybody happen to know who that is/was? Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Shiano on January 11, 2007, 07:59:19 AM I second Ken on the skyline tails.
Something like this would be cool. \/ \/ \/ oO Oo Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: ken on January 11, 2007, 08:31:01 AM YES YES YES!!!
thats exactly what im lookin for. maybe somebody who knows should just post a "how to" and explain to me how i would go about making some myself. Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Shiano on January 11, 2007, 11:03:17 AM sigh. one day ken, one day.
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: sweetbring on January 12, 2007, 07:46:18 AM or, we could just have downer make a couple more of them. One for ken, and one for me. I really want them.
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: ken on January 13, 2007, 08:34:24 PM sigh. one day ken, one day. that day should be yesterday!Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Shiano on January 14, 2007, 12:35:53 AM yesterday wouldn't be soon enough. lol :D
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: downer on January 14, 2007, 12:37:14 AM Something like this would be cool. \/ \/ \/ oO Oo that's waht i'm going for next. i have some ideas, but that's it so far. there was a how to on asec that neonchick wrote. search for that, it was a pretty good write up. Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: downer on January 20, 2007, 04:10:34 AM i'm hoping i can fit these into the sebring housing. turned on their side obviously ;D i think these could look hot.
(http://www.wctc.net/~eight/images/3eed_1.JPG) Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: sweetbring on January 20, 2007, 08:18:54 AM wow, what are those? Downer, you shouldn't have. When do i get them? ;D
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: downer on January 20, 2007, 10:26:51 PM they are out of an 02 monte carlo. i may make more, but it's gonna depend on how well these go..and how they look.
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: sweetbring on January 21, 2007, 08:33:49 AM sweet, let me know. I will buy some if they work.
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Shiano on January 21, 2007, 08:53:36 AM if you need a pair of avenger tails let me know. i will donate them as long as you cover the shipping. :)
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: SoBeGod00 on January 21, 2007, 07:28:45 PM i'm hoping i can fit these into the sebring housing. turned on their side obviously ;D i think these could look hot. (http://www.wctc.net/~eight/images/3eed_1.JPG) I had the same idea cause my ex girlfriends parents have a Monte Carlo & thought they would look pretty sweet sideways. I was gonna give it a try but I didn't know how to mold the surround to our original shape. Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: ken on January 24, 2007, 07:34:52 AM you would actually make a filler plate that the monte lights fit in that is the shape of our original tails. its a good idea and i was going to get REAL skyline tails and put them in my car, that was till i found out how much they were then it just wasnt a good idea anymore
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Shiano on January 25, 2007, 01:26:16 AM price? some of us DO buy things we can't afford on a regular basis. There was this Ferrari once..........
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: sweetbring on January 26, 2007, 08:44:27 AM Shiano, hate to burst your bubble, but these are for a sebring only. Sorry.
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Shiano on January 26, 2007, 09:12:56 AM The Skyline's. pffft. this is the south. we can MAKE it fit. if they can cram a built 350 into a Metropolitan, then we can do this simple task.
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: downer on January 27, 2007, 04:09:15 AM skylines look good on a sebring. should have came like this from the factory IMO
(http://www.wctc.net/~eight/images/tails1.jpg) FYI old school picture, was a member back in the day who used to make these. Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Ivan on January 28, 2007, 12:17:56 AM that picture does look good.
about avenger's tail lights, I really like them. The most easy thing to do for Venger's tails is to paint em Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Shiano on January 28, 2007, 04:47:28 AM no. painted dont look good unless you're talking about the black area matching your paint. then it's a m.o.o. (lol). Personally, I don't like it for my car.
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Gr8witeLxi on January 30, 2007, 05:31:35 AM Nice tails dave.. they sure beat the factory tails, I like them. I also want some kind of aftermarket tailights also.
Downer I'll give you a shout. See what your working on. It'll be interesting to see the turnout on those Monte Carlo tails. Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Ivan on January 30, 2007, 07:42:10 PM no. painted dont look good unless you're talking about the black area matching your paint. then it's a m.o.o. (lol). Personally, I don't like it for my car. yes, match the black area with the body color I personally not a fan of that either :-/ Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: turboavenger98 on January 31, 2007, 12:27:23 AM oO Oo <---- first off those are NOT skyline tails( possible on the bring not the venge)
OO OO <------- those are the r32 and r33 (possible on the venge and bring but wouldnt look good on the venge) Oo oO <--------- and those are the r34 ( possible to make on the venge/and bring) theres my $0.02 have fun with the monte carlo tails im using the writeup on ehem asec ahem (sorry had to say it) but modifying a little bit to use maximum space so the tails look like real r34 tail Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Shiano on January 31, 2007, 12:49:10 AM oO Oo <---- first off those are NOT skyline tails( possible on the bring not the venge) :POO OO <------- those are the r32 and r33 (possible on the venge and bring but wouldnt look good on the venge) Oo oO <--------- and those are the r34 ( possible to make on the venge/and bring) theres my $0.02 have fun with the monte carlo tails im using the writeup on ehem asec ahem (sorry had to say it) but modifying a little bit to use maximum space so the tails look like real r34 tail so sue me. lol. it's the most noteworthy car i could think of to give a better visual description. lol Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: SoBeGod00 on January 31, 2007, 02:04:27 AM (http://i13.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/86/6e/c19e_1.JPG)

my monte lights are going to be a challenge. first thing is i didn't realize the larger light is a 6" lense. there really isn't room in the housing for it. it can be done, but i'm not sure how bad it's gonna look. second, i got no wiring harness with it but i did get the halogen bulbs shipped with it..so i guess i'll have to scrounge around for a harness or find something else to use. anyways, 'skyline tails' is a pretty generic term now. i wouldn't get too upset about r32-r34 variations. especially when you mention dodge/chrysler in the same sentence. ;) Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: SoBeGod00 on February 01, 2007, 04:20:37 AM yeah, thats what i thought too. I really like the blinker on the bottom of the light. What did you use to make the mold around the lights? Thats what I cant figure out how to do. i had a few ideas to try myself but dont know if i have the resources to do it.
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: downer on February 01, 2007, 12:42:44 PM i used thin wall pvc pipe for the insets and fiberglassed them to the inside face of the stock taillight.

http://www.wctc.net/~eight/images/100_0056.jpg (http://www.wctc.net/~eight/images/100_0056.jpg) Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Shiano on September 19, 2007, 07:57:51 AM Thats coming along nicely even though, Downer. What are you going to do for the border [the negative space there] colorwise? Black? Red?
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Gr8witeLxi on September 19, 2007, 12:07:39 PM Keep us updated... I am very interested in an aftermarket set.
Are you making dupilcates of those? Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: downer on September 19, 2007, 05:06:38 PM once i make a cover i'll probably paint it polo green. just leave each lense red and cover the center red portion.
it's taken me so far to get to this point, i just haven't worked on them very often. at the rate i'm going now another set isn't likely. Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Gr8witeLxi on September 19, 2007, 11:40:13 PM you can sell me that set then. :P ;D lol
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Shiano on September 20, 2007, 01:24:50 AM You can still do a write up with pictures [if you took any] that way the info isn't lost. I'm sure other headlight combos will look good.
Title: Re: New Taillights Post by: Aaron on September 20, 2007, 02:24:19 AM OOOH WHOA just saw those lights damn I WANT i gotta bring too....
