Okay guys I'm hoping you can calm my suspicions...
I have a 1997 Dodge Avenger V6 with a serious issue
I had the Timing belt, Accessory belts, Cam Seals, Crank Seal and Water pump done on my car 4,000 miles ago
So I'm getting on the highway, punch the gas and the Acc belt breaks at 5,500 RPM.. Wraps itself around about everything under the hood and now my car is making a noise you could compare to marbles in a blender.. I'm thinkin it threw the timing off and it's chewing valves..
Any ideas?  I'm hoping I don't need an engine, and If I do, how much you think I'm lookin at to get it fixed if it is?  It's got 129K on it and it's loaded with every option but infinity and sunroof (it's got leather, power everything, 17" factory wheels, etc)

Any reason why a NEW belt would break like that?  I don't see any seized pullys..  And the mechanic I paid $530 to do the job is already taking a defensive stance saying it's not his fault..  What would you do?  Sue for a new motor?  Helpppp

Thanks!

Check the tensioner ... I've seen the bearings go out and it wobbles and derails the belt ...
As for the mechanic It'll be hard/near impossible to get anything out of him ...
Likely it did jump timing and the valves are damaged ... The Cheapest alternitive woud be the 3.0 engine swap

Well heres the thing.. When he was doing the belts he said the tensioner bolts were bad so he could heat it up and put new ones in after he got the old ones out that broke or get new tensioners.. I told him I'd get new tensioners but he didn't want to wait for them cause the car was apart and was holding up his garage..  So if that's the issue I could probably get something out of him for not allowing me to buy tensioners to install.. ?   I guess its his word against mine tho.. So if I did a swap would the tranny work with it?  Do I need a new ECM too and how much do you think it would cost me?

Thanks for the quick reply!!

So just an update.. Had my mechanic look at it today.. Looks like it was what I feared, and you guys are right.. The motor is shot.. So sad, it's only got 129K on it..  Looks like I'm buying a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart AWD Turbo haha..
Anyone want the Venge?  I'll let it go cheap!  LMAO..  It's loaded with every option but Infinity & Sunroof! haha...
