Oil leak on passenger side
« on: April 23, 2008, 09:07:06 PM »

Hi, I'm new to the site and I have a question about an oil leak that my car has developed.  It is a 1995 Chrysler Sebring with the 2.0 DOHC.  It has an oil leak on the passenger side, when I park I get some oil accumulation below the crank pulley area.  I just want to check for sure that this sounds like a link with the crank oil seal or if it could be caused by anything else.  I was stuck in rush hour traffic for about 15 minutes and the car started to smoke.  It looks like oil was getting into the altenator.  I'm just looking for opinions on the cause and to make sure that if it is the crank oil seal it could cause oil to get on the altenator.

Thanks.

The alternator sits up higher than the crank, so it's not likely.

It could be leaking from a number of places and just running down.  Or you could have multiple leaks.  If you're not sure take it to someone that can track the leak for you.

Mod List.  Um WAY too many to fit on here.  But the engine can handle about 800HP

I dropped it off at a local garage last night and they found out that it is the crank seal, it wasn't in flush and they were able to take it out with their hand.

must have ran along the belt to the alternator.  At least you have it all figured out.
