Sorry. I just have to blow off some steam . Earlier this week, my front right brake disc got warped, and the car always makes a grinding noise and vibrates when braking acting like an impact gun loosening everything on the car. This shaking has made the knocking in the front end even worst. Tonight after work, in a hurry to get back home to watch a very important Habs game, I get caught up in a road block. They inspected everything on the car, and I mean EVERYTHING. My interior was stripped so they freaked out a bit, thought the car was stolen. ( as in my seat only, no console, no back seat, no carpet) They had to run a vin check... I just removed the interior to clean the carpet after winter. They were going to make me pass an inspection, but that a different story. I got away with an illegal muffler violation ticket, a fixit-asap ticket, and I missed the game!! (habs lost by the way to make things worst!!!)
hmm. i'll take a different approach on spinning this into a good light:
With the interior taken out, you don't have to worry about them deciding to rip up the interior and damage it.
You're right on that one, I'm sure they would have asked to check the interior, but without a warrant, I would not have let them. Habs is the nickname for the Montreal Canadiens.
