yup its the starter... i put a screw driver between the two terminals and it made a spinning sound. tried the key and it started... must be a dead spot or something Grin

Can our starters be rebuilt?

Usually it costs more to rebuild than you can buy a reman one with a warranty.

We sell a reman unit for $135.95

am worried that i might not get a core from located auto parts store because i had to grind off half of the rim to make it fit against the 3.5 block (namely the oil pan).

yeah, it sounds like the starter has a dead spot.

actually hitting the starter with that tackhammer, may help you in the short-run til you get a new or reman

napa sells remans for pretty cheap, if you have a napa nearby, if you get lucky the'll have one in stock, if not they'll gladly order one for you.

(btw...i really like napa)
