6G73 fuel burning specs
« on: March 23, 2007, 09:59:44 PM »

I may have heard this a while back, but does the 6G73 have a lean burning fuel curve? If so, I've already got my custom turbo setup fabricated, now I just need to prepare the fuel delivery. Only going to run 4-7psi, mainly to give just a little extra kick, reducing gas pedal lag. I just need to know if this engine has a lean fuel curve so as to balance it out without running larger injectors and/or a performance fuel pump and custom rail lines. Thanks.

Everything I've heard about a turbo set-up says "yes"  to fuel delivery mods.  AND as far as I've always heard and I thought the 6G73 ran rich, but since you have a turbo delivering more air -faster,...then no it would be to leaner.
I don't have a turbo; I just thought I'd throw out my "2 cents".

Could be the beers talking (I'm gonna laugh at myself tomorrow when I read what I wrote in other posts I bet) but "red_hed" is right.  We run a rich curve.  That' s why those with a swapped 3.0 need bigger injectors to run properly.

What's the acrynim NOW stand for or did you just decide that's a cool sounding name for a build project?

Everything I've heard about a turbo set-up says "yes"  to fuel delivery mods.

Alrighty, then what performance fuel pump, and what size of injectors do you or anyone else recommend for fuel delivery of
4-7psi boost from a garret T04E hybrid turbo, running off of both sets of 3 exhaust heads, no intercooler, and custom chargepipe leading
to maybe a gutted intake plenum with a modified IAT sensor?

list costs as well if you can, just got a huge paycheck, project should come nicely!

i dont know much about turbos, but i do know that once u compress air, its gonna be heated. your car MAY run worst since you may have "pre-ignition combustion". i.e the hot air may combust before being ignited due to all the heat that's already in it. i could be wrong, but its just  to play it safe. some ppl like walbro, but to other's its a bit noisy. as for injectors im not sure, but i do know if its 600 cc or more its too much. just to give u a range. others will respond who can better aid u with this.

any updates on this? did u put that turbo setup together. im thinking about doing the same thing with a custom turbo setup but running a decent intercooler  that i can get off ebay for around $100. im wondering how much power a stock fuel pump can take as well. im thinking of running 7-10 lbs of boost
